Does anybody have any general info on this defunct Revell line?

If you are interested in obtaining the kit someone will put it out. As for that product line, not too sure, could be just a marketing ploy. My guess only.

It began as a "premium brand" from Monogram about the time Revell and Monogram were merging. The first few Pro Modeller kits were re-issues of Monogram kits with "upgraded" tooling. For example, Monogram's F-102 was retooled with a Case X wing (the first issue had a case XX wing), a new sprue of ground crew figures and some really poorly done bulged tires (they really shouldn't have done that part). The instruction booklets were expanded with detail pictures and a lot of informative text by Bert Kinzey of Detail and Scale. IIRC, the Ta-154 and Me-410, SB2C, F-84 and F-15E were new tool kits which had not been previously issued in a Monogram box. Pro Modeller faded into obscurity shortly after the Monogram brand was retired and Revell took over completely. If you can find one of them, you're in for a real treat because they were among the best kits available at the time they were issued.

I concur with Jessie_C. ProModeler also released an 1/48 F-86D that was very good (I actually built it!), and WW2 airfield ground equipment for the USA, Germany, and RAF. They also released a 1/72 Spitfire, Bf 109, and IIRC, an ME 262.
Promodel boxed some other kits by Dragon, like this 1/48 Ju88, now released by Cyber Hobby: http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/review/5708
Promodeler also released a line of acrylic paints and dozens of decal sheets. Several sheets were bomb and rocket stenciling.

See the F-86D that I'm doing in the Night Fighters campaign(about halfway down page 5). As Fred mentioned, it was first issued in the Promodeler box. I don't care that it's 10 years old; it's still fantastic.
