Hi Bill

I think the intention is to preserve it in its wrecked condition, not restore it. If that's true, the eventual display may be somewhat along the lines of the RAF Museum's Halifax.

All the best

Hi Jonathon

Yep - they got her up! (I have to admit, somewhat against my expectations following the recent set-backs.)

Soon the long job of preparing her for display will begin - and having worked on just a small part of the Halifax (which spent a lot less time underwater), I really envy the team - it's hard, uncomfortable, and painstakingly slow work - but the knowledge that you're involved in preserving something unique and important more than makes up for it.

All the best

Hi everybody,

I read about it at LSP and now I hope Revell will measure her in good time and release a 1/32 version (perhaps followed by a 217?).
Anyway it's great news that such a unique artifact has been recovered and, hopefully, will be preserved. As I read at LSP, 2 of the crew members died and were washed up at the British coast. The rest of them were taken prisoner. May be the plane could be a reminder of the complete idiocy of war, but I don't believe it. Mankind never seems to learn.
My only hope is it beeing the foundation of a hopefully accurate kit in whatever scale.

Regards, HP

PS: where can I find that aeroscale cafe or how it's called and how do I sign in? Would be nice to drink a with you all.

There's the Modelling Cafe thread in the Site Feedback forum. That may be what you're looking for.
