After having served in Jasta 15, Alb. D.V 2042/17 was a assigned to training duties at Lübeck-Travemunde and is known to have been destroyed in a landing in July 1918. Its pilot Ltn. Wegener is listed as KIC. This diorama took a first place at the IPMS USA Nationals in 2003.
This is the early issued Eduard Albatros D.V kit with their aftermarket PE set.

Thanks Stephen for not only starting this thread but for posting your great collection of models and Thanks to all who have likewise posted their work.
Ditto also that there is no substitute for a fitted cover/base to protect the model. The only draw back is the total space they take up. In larger display cases, models can be grouped almost wing tip to fuselage on a shelf and multiple rows a can fit on each shelf. The draw back of Large display cases is that unless totally sealed will allow some dust in.

For my large displays (like the Staaken) I not only created a perimter ledge to rest the cover on, but to add a small square strip around the outside edge of the base to trap the cover. Note the Red coloured aoutside strip on the edge of the base. The cover is held inplace wit eight brass screws in each side, passing through the cover and the base.

The figure is an ex-Jager walking infantry soldier. The pup is from Preiser. I will add a pistol in a holster and a resin canteen. Next will be a gas mask canister & shoulder strap.

For me adding a relevant figure helps bring a visual proportion to the display. Here with Eduard's 1:48 #8196 Spad XIII build I use the Model Cellar French officer.
