Looking for proper model (1/48) and markings for a gray/white Hellcat that served in the North Atlantic. Anyone have any suggestion and even some motivational pictures of your own North Atlantic painted aircraft. Thanks

Greetings Steve,
I've not aware of any Hellcats being assigned to Anti-Sub operations (with appropriate paint scheme) in the Atlantic. F4F & FM2 Wildcats were preferred as they took up less space on small escort carriers and were teamed up with the much larger TBF/TBM Avengers.
That's said, Royal Navy used F6F aircraft in the MTO (Late war)and during D-Day and US Navy used F6F's during Operation Dragoon (Invasion of Southern France) with several air to air victories scored. The US aircraft were in overall blue and R.N. pictures I have seen aircraft painted in Sky/sea grey/green camo.

Hope this helps,
Brian

Brian,
Not to be picky, but I think the British Hellcats were Dk. Slate Grey/Dark Sea Grey/Sky (or their American equivalents). Just don't want anyone steered wrong. I agree with you about no American Atlantic F6Fs, I've never seen any either. Always F4F/FMs.

Why is there some sort of tether from the upper main gear to the deck?

That's what it would be. Still too early for the breaker bar. The F-4 Phantom was also launched from a cat using the wires.
