I see what you are talking about Jessie, never seen them on any Easys or BAs. The height of the flap fairings and wingtip fence are too high for a belt loader to hit, however a de-icing rig would get close or a high loader which loads bins would get pretty close, 320s make use of bins as I have loaded the Air Lingus 320 that comes here. 319s don't have the runners for bins though only hand loaded baggage. I know the company I work for are worldwide, and the S.O.P.s are the same throughout, so the no drive diamond applies. But we are going off on a tangent, lol.

Not too much action today, it was more of a housekeeping session, applying undercarriage, and finishing the engines. I tried adding the hoses to the main undercarriage and it worked!

Not the worlds best photo, the cables are more visible on the right hand strut. I could only get the camera to pic them up in this picture, i will try and get a better one when i present to completed model.And... Windows!

They look quite rough and will be neatened up prior to finishing because Revell only saw fit to provide window outlines (how useful). And thanks for those pics Jessie, there does appear to be an extensive use on the Canadian A319, far more than other A319s...maybe they like the danger factor!

Looking good Chris. If you build a 737 I have pics for that too.

Hey Guys she is finished! I Uhhm-ed and Ahh-ed about weathering but in the end I decided that the silver would detract formt he weathering, and it would be better to leave it 'factory fresh' so here she is!

And the final one was of the detail wires. Any comments welcome

Now that the airliner bug has bitten you'll be doing one of these any day now, right?

I have read his build report on that and it does look good, all lights as well. Possibly a bit much for me! However the A380 is on my 'hitlist'. My first airliner was the Edelweiss A320. Also on the list would be a repaint of my HS Trident and a pair of B737s to use against your conversion guide. Watch this space I suppose.

Great job Chris def looks the part with the Germanwings livery. I am sure you would manage the 380 no bother.

Haha thanks! But that is a vast area of white! Im not sure I could manage... I would also wait until it has more operators, nothing here jiggles my fancy. I would do Emirates but I would save that for a 777, I have a friend who is an air hostess on one of those

A quick review on the decals for this kit. While they have a non-Revell name attached to them 'Daco' (who I have not heard of much before)they tend to be a bit thin. As can be seen in one or two of the pictures the purple strand is translucent, showing the rough paintwork underneath. This seems to be inherent with all of the Revell airliners I have built. The yellow stripes on the Armenian Airlines IL-86 are very fin and a vulnerable to the paints underneath (dark blue and white in AAs case) showing through and being a mess. Precise masking and painting is required to avoid this problem, but sadly I lack the pinpoint accuracy. The Edelweiss flowers on the Edelweiss A320 are also thin but luckily the colour underneath is block red and this effect is diminished. The decals themselves also tend to set very quickly, especially the larger ones, and extra water is usually required to get the decal to move about after application, making things like long line decals very tricky.
Having said that these decals look very good and Revell have managed to acquire some very good schemes and it appears as though most of the models come with a variety of interesting airline colours; the IL-86 comes with four! The decals also show some interesting little quirks, such as windows with fully or partially closed shutters.
All in all this was a very good kit, I enjoyed building it and I am happy with the result

DACO Products is run by Danny Coremans in Belgium. His decal sheets are always immaculately researched and well drawn. They're among the best in the business, if as you note, fairly thin.

One trick to get the masking correct is to photocopy the decal sheet and trim out the cheatlines from the paper to get the masking demarcation line to exactly match the paper.

Thanks for the advice, I will use that on future builds! I wasn't looking to knock the rep of DACO. Just mentioning the thin factor as I lost the chance to do my Armenian Airlines IL-86 and I almost lost Germanwings as well

I didn't think you were; I was just taking the opportunity to introduce you to one of the best in the business

They have an interesting selection of decals for...everything really. May pay them a visit one day haha.
Also taking this as a chance to show my first two airliners off. They aren't the best work I ever done, but it is a learning curve! Just need to get the hang of 'large' decals as these are things I had never tackled before.
