Finally there...

Before we get to the finished model, one final "in-the-works"-photo! Monogram original canopy parts, the side screens have been cut down to be installed in the open position and the hole in the rear of the canopy has been filled in with some odd-smelling epoxy putty I found in the hardware store that gets very "structural" when set!

On to the photos! This is not a winner (though it can be done, check this one!) but considering this is a pure nostalgia-build of a nearly half-a-decade-old kit I would say it turned out quite OK. Especially if NOT seen through the camera lens :-) !

Model has been added to the collection.

Hi Magnus

Lovely job! It really encourages me in my old idea of doing a vintage kits campaign.

All the best

Great build Magnus! I will take close look at it during the weekend and I promise not to use a camera lens.

Rowan! Thanks! If picking the right kit a nostalgia build can be great fun.

Fredrik! Much appreciated, see you on Saturday!

Magnus,
Congratulations on finishing a very difficult build. Honestly, I wouldn't ever have completed it. Your P-38 looks truly outstanding. You know how glad I am that you pulled it together, and finished it.

Well done my friend. I took a look at that P-38 build link. A really excellent build for sure.

And Rowan, while I don't enter a lot of campaigns, I think I'd sign up for that Nostalgia campaign if you did one. Looks like I would have all of 2015 to figure out what I would build as I don't see this campaign starting much before 2016.

Excellent build. I enjoy seeing the folks take on the classic kits. Again thanks for sharing.
