Its my honest opinion that your Harrier is coming along just great, Damon. I'm sure that dusting it off and top-coating her to seal in the decals should take care of the 'silvering'. Well done!!

Still need to seal the decals with future, do the oil washes, flat coat and drybrushing so I am hopeful that will solve all of the decal issues that are showing now.

Ok so been WAY too cold to be in the garage, like single digits cold, no bs. So I am hunkering down in the hizzy with the kiddos watching a movie. Temps supposed to head into more normal (40F, which will seem balmy by comparison) later this week. Once I can spend more than 30sec out there I will do some posting and hopefully building too. Cheers.

Today I added the second coat of future and started the oil washes. The oil washes seem to be happening well and I hope that there will be little left to do once the first pass dries. Still need to paint the ordinance and glue in place, maybe later this week?

Oil washes looked good today so I added the flat coat, which was a serious PITA. The Testors Acryl Flat that I have is REALLY thick. Like almost too thick to run through the airbrush and it took some coaxing. Once that dried I started with the pastel chalks, mostly black and graphite for obvious reasons and areas. Also precious to the chalks I touched up a couple of decals with more of the Micro Sol as they seemed to be not only silvering but standing up from the skin. This addition seemed to fix the issue on most but some sill have the film showing. Once the chalks were added I went back and did some drybrushing touch ups with Tamiya chrome silver. These were areas where the paint would be totally worn down and this was done sparingly. I still need to paint and add the ordinance, but everything else seems to be in place and looking "good". There are some areas on the kit that just did not fit right and some areas where I missed seams and punch out marks but this is only my second completed aircraft, so I am gonna call it a win from here. Let me know how it looks. Cheers.

Try running some Future under those decals which are trying to lift off. That will help to seal them down and cure the silvering as well. You'll need to re-spray the flat coat in those areas but it's a small price to pay for decals that aren't coming adrift.
The rest looks really good and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product
