This is my 1st time hosting a campaign so hope it's in the right place.
After a chat in auto about new campaigns, there was a few people interested in a rustbucket/scrap build. Well I hope to include, armour, and ships(they always have some rust) as well as shinys. Start date would be maybe Nov. end of 2013.
Open to all suggestions, but the main theme would be rust.
Loads of potential for dios etc. but not limited to.

Cheers Pete

Very few airplanes actually rust, but they do get awfully dirty in other ways after they get abandoned. I presume that things with wings don't have to be actually rusty?

Yeah Jess originally I didn't put it on here, but it's not just rust, on the other sites alot of people are looking at scrapped or something along those lines. Aircraft being aluminum as you say don't rust, I just didn't want to leave you guys out. I am sure you guys can come up with something to add.

I'm not sure it would be allowed, but, I do have an idea I'd like to work over. More or less the first diorama style I've ever thought of doing.

I'm thinking the model inside a clear resin filled glass sandwich.

I guess with this much weathering you don't need to worry to much about seams

Those shots of Pedannick remind me of RAF Catterick in the 1970s, we use to pass there on the A1 often and as a kid I would always look out at the fire dump at the south end of the field. I remember seeing Vulcans, Victors and Canberras among other aircraft spending their final days servicing the RAF fire training school based there. That was one really short runway and must have made landing the Vulcan and Victor real interesting !

Some great pictures there Matt, I like the state of the wasp, not much left of that at all. Hopefully some inspiration there.

I know this is not an aircraft but it is something I have done for a model railway scrapyard. This pays homage to a South Wales scrapyard (I think it was Cash's at Newport) who had a Sherman underneath the scrap pile.

Pete, I only posted this as an example of what people can think of in making a rusty/scrap aircraft, that is why I said it is not an aircraft
