joel you are very kind. thank you for sticking around and all of your input. you are right about the flaps. they did settle uneven.

first let me say thank you for following along. all the encouragement has pushed me as much as just the sheer challenge.

so without further ado.

my first attempt at a cutaway.

trumpeter 1/32 p-40b, roughly 20 or 25 kit pieces. guessing somewhere north of 800 pieces total. started in november.

again thank you for following along and for all the support.

i am enjoying the moment actually. going to take some time, building oob stuff, where i dont have to do anything but follow the instructions for a little while. got another larger project coming up at the end of the year.

Joe,
I'm the same way. After a killer build, I like to scale it back for a while. Any change you can give us a hint as to what your next build will be, and what your plans are?

joel for the next couple of builds like i said i am looking at oob. first up will be something i havent done in years. the 1/25 hot rod magazine funny car. after that i am looking at the academy 1/72 b-17c/d. i am however researching a couple of future builds. first will be later this year, 1/24 me 109g-10. then sometime next year will be a full cutaway of a p-51d in either 1/24 or 1/32.

Joe,
I use to build race cars before I got back int aircraft and armor (not that I build any armor these days). Really would like to follow that build.

Given your expertise in cut-a-ways, the bigger the scale, the better opportunities. For what it's worth go 1/24 scale.

joel i do believe that i am leaning towards the 1/24. it is the airfix -d, i have heard that it is a beaut of a kit with the exception of the ip. i have heard that the ip is for a -b. i need to research a bit. the 109 will be a challenge in that i dont do german birds often. in fact i have done all of eight in the last 35 years. only one actually turned out decent.

i am afraid however the car build will be offsite. it will be a quick run through that wont even make a decent wip on any forum.

It's been a real pleasure following this build Joe, and the end result is stunning. Congrats on a really fine effort, and thanks for sharing so much detail with us in this thread.

Cheers, D
