Hi folks!
I'm a bit confused. My next build will be a USAAF Beaufighter from the 416th NFS, Italy 1943. While the decal sheet from a company named ADS gives the colours Medium Sea Grey/Dark Green, the Tamiya painting instruction says Ocean Grey/Dark Green. Which combination is correct? Would appreciate your help

Nightfighters were painted Medium Sea Grey and Dark Green.

Ocean grey was a day fighter colour. Night fighters were in medium sea grey overall with green disruptive pattern on the upper surfaces. I'll believe the decal researchers over Tamiya any day.

Thanks for your replies, Tony and Jessie!
I have here the kit No. 61053 which includes parts for an all black RAF Night Beau but for the other fighter aircraft in the kit Tamiya says OG/DG. Didn't know there were differences. So both companies are right and I will use Medium Sea Grey No. 71049 from Vallejo for my US Night Fighter now.

Early in 1942, orders (AMO 664/42)were issued that "at home" nightfighters were to be all-black, while those for foreign service were to be delivered in the Day Fighter Scheme, and any repainting was to be left to the requirements of the relevant command.
In August 1942, all nightfighters were ordered to be in DFS, but this only lasted about a month, before the Dark Green/Sea Grey Medium scheme was ushered in. By 1943 (the time in which you are interested) the Sea Grey Medium scheme is most likely.

Thanks for this detailed informations, Edgar! I really appreciate that! So I won't go wrong with my plan using Medium Sea Grey.
