Terri,

Welcome back!

Airbrushed freehand, huh? Do you give lessons?? You have sharp and tight control!

Terri,
Simply an outstanding freehand camo paint scheme. Looks great.

Hoping that you'll finish the P-40 now as you're in the final stages of the build.

Happy Holidays,
Joel

Thanks guy's !

Sorry Fred , no lessons ...

Joel , should have this wrapped up soon . Just finished clear coating in prep for the decals and working on the other small items such as masking the canopy . Will go faster once I get the Fokker D.VII finished which is in it's final stage .

Terri,
Looking forward to your pictures. Missed your non-WW1 builds.

I really need to start to spend some time in the WW1 forum. Great builds for sure.

Terri,
Nice job on the decals especially the shark's mouth. They always give me a hard time.

Just out of curiosity, have you test fitted the windscreen? I always glue them on and blend in as necessary prior to painting.

Hi Joel , no the decals actually sucked ! The shark month so far has had three coats of sol to get them snuggle . If you don't get them place just right the first time no matter how much water or decal set used , they wouldn't budge or just end up breaking up . I have some paint touch up on the chin where the decals didn't meet the edge .

So maybe tomorrow I can seal them and start the first round of weathering . Canopy is under way of being mask and it fit's prefect when tested fitted .

Terri,
So I'm not the only one who has trouble with Shark Mouth decals. I've used the Micro decal system forever, but lately I've tried and liked Tamiya's Mark It as it's a little stronger then Micro Sol. I still shy away from Walthers Solvaset from a few bad experiences, but I've got some when nothing else will work.

Looking forward to your next picture update with some weathering.

Here we go ...

I didn't do a lot of weathering on this and kept it on the light side .

Terri,
Very, very nicely done. The overall light filter really worked wonders in both toning down the really bright colors such as the National Insignias, and blending the camo colors to a more natural, softer look. Well done.

Just an outstanding build of the Academy kit.
