more progress, the basic airframe is completed and sanded. Now i´am starting to add little details, the auxilary intakes are in place.

The rocket armanent
Here are pictures from the armament sprues and details. There are a lot of rockets, drop tanks and pylons. But Trumpeter made
a mistake, instead of the sprues "WC" with the tanks, you need
two "WA" sprues, the one with the R-23 missiles and their
pylons. This forced me, to give up my complete OOB idea and
buy some aftermarket stuff from the Eduard Brassin line, what a pity !

Hi, here some work on the MiG-23M.It was not stalled but not really high on priority the last time.The major setback was to find out, that one sprue was missing, i have contacted the shop owner, from wich i bought this one, he promised me to get a new sprue but .....after some months i purchased a Brassin Set instead and a new pitot as well.
The build suffered also from a few mistakes i have done.It took some time to solve this.
There is some paint on it and some fine details too, so here a few pics:

The shading effect will be reduced somewhat.The pitot or speed indicator from Master replaced the kit part:

I made some progress on the canopy and the undercarriage as well, pictures about that later on.

Pictures fom the paintwork after the tape is removed.The heavy shading effect was reduced by spraying multible layers of darker and lighter shades of the gray paint.The last step was a complete overspray with a very thin dark gray (HU 27)


Some detail painting a layer of clear will be next.Thank you for watching

Michael: As said, Trumpys Flogger family are sound kits,and deserves to be build,the most thrilling part of the build is still undone, the undercarriage.It is like the real one complex and need some attention, i will add break lines as possible.
so stay "tuned"

Joel, i must be in the mood for something, while the big Ju is very much on the bench, it was time for the MiG, its a lovely kit.
And i agree, i am also not a fan of too pronounced shading effects, but these camo need some "highlights".Trumpys petite panel lines and rivets will hopefully take a slight dark wash.

Here is a picture from the Eduard Brassin Set for the R-23T
air to air missiles, it is quite nice,the missiles are better detailed, the pylons are similar to the kit ones, they have rails moulded on. The quality of my pic is poor, the best light conditions were outside, but the overcast is nearly RLM 75

There is also a small pe set include, will do some detail work this day

Those AM missiles are little mini kits. They should build up to be a nice addition to your build.

They are mini kits in their own right, with pe parts and decals,

Hi, despite my current 1/72nd scale AFV disease, i have made some progress on my MiG.It took much effort to bring the single gray colour to live.The cloudy overspray over a dark prime was not enough, all panel lines and rivets received a dark wash, after this the whole model was sprayed, again cloudy with a lighter shade of the gray.While not easy, it is even hard to capture this on film.







I think its not 100% but the rather uneven,faded and used look of this cold war fighter will be enhenced with more weathering after the decals were on.
So much for now, i hope you like it

Very nice Bernd! Those one tone paint jobs are hard to bring off but yours looks good in the photos. I plan to do a four color scheme based on various on-line profiles and an old sheet of Micro-Scale Soviet numbers I have that are just the right size.

Hi Michael,this one-tone-colour-scheme is a real challenge.
The photos show the third attempt to get the look right.To give up was not an option.:-)
The Flogger has seen some progress over the week and i hope i can show this at some time.
The undercarriage is half way done, it is complex but will look nice and the fit is great.
Good luck on yours, the multi colored camo looks great on the MiG too,the kit itself is great and, i guess it won t be the last Flogger on my bench, can t wait to see yours.
