I am doing a 1/32nd scale Vietnam Helicopter pilot. Here it is so far. The pose is one hand on the chopper and the other on his hip or maybe a CAR-15

Looks like he is coming along nicely. I agree, you should have him professionally cast so we can all enjoy your creation. The last set you did for the downed Huey were excellent as well. We could really use some very nice helicopter crewmen. How about doing some modern ones as well.

Yes, we do need them, seating at the chopper's controls. 1/35 & 1/48. And even if I do not touch 1/72, I'm sure someone will step in and asks for them too. lol

I agree about the seated pilots but you almost have to do a pilot for each kit to make them look right. I have toyed with the idea of sculpting the pilot right onto the seat and may try that with one soon, but it will be hard to do a generic one that will work for say any 1/32nd scale chopper. stand by and lets see how this one works out and we can readjust fire and see where the rounds fall.

This is looking very nice. One thing I particularly like is the eye shield in the down position -- rarely seen in figure creations. This will enable builders to create scenes which are way more convincing.

Hi Floyd,
I admire your work. I somehow got the impression that this figure will be going into production. Was I wrong?

It is looking good. I'll produce it if and when offered to me. I think it is a great looking figure. I'd love to have three or four heads. No hat, baseball hat, Stetson and helmet. That would make it a versatile figure for any Vietnam helicopter. We are going to need figures soon.
Seated figures are hard to do as none of the seats are the same. I like the around the helicopter poses. This is a great pose. It should be fun and helpful.

This is stunning! I could just picture him by the Cayuse. And any other Nam crew also.
