As an old, cheap B#st$rd, I didn't think in that direction. OTOH, I spent $2 on a tiny bottle of alcohol that I'm going to leave behind anyway... All in all it might be a better solution, the Bondene evaporates quickly and isn't very forgiving.

Greetings,
My F4F-4 is finished but I can't get the photo to load into the gallery. I must not be up to speed with the recent shutdown and glitches. Any help or information would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Firstsergeant

A model Albatross #2 paint masks pulled. pretty good, some clean up to do. These colors are from my dwindling horde of my favorite Pollyscale acrylics, engine gray over Reefer white.
the cockpit glass mask is still in place.
and for refference, I am going here
All decals are printed and ready now.

Hi all,
I have been having some trouble getting pictures into the campaign gallery, I have tried several times to upload some pics but every time I try they do not appear in the 'my photos' section, and I see no way to get them into the actual campaign gallery. if anyone could help, I would be very grateful
cheers

Its a known problem. They are working on it. I suggest try again after a couple of weeks.

Simon,
Posting pictures in any of the galleries is a exercise in frustration. No one really uses it except to post finished models for the campaigns. Unlike posting pictures in the forums which is done through a cloud service like Photobucket or Flickr, the gallery pictures are uploaded directly from your computer. There is also no way to delete them as far as I can tell. You also have a limited band width of space, so just post 2 finished pictures.
Directions for posting pictures to a Gallery:
1-Resize the two pictures to a max of 1024x768.
2-Under the Aeroscale blue banner there are the the site tabs. The gallery tab is the 2nd from right. Click on it.
3-Under the site banner is a blue banner that starts with My Photos. The last tab on the right is login. Log in with the same ID & PW as you use on the main site.
4-You will see a welcome line, then under it the various galleries, click on the Aeroscale Gallery, not members gallery.
5-Click on Aeroscale Campaigns
6-Click on 2014 Aeroscale Campaigns
7-Click on Grumman Campaign
8-Back to the top Blue Taskbar. Click on Upload Photos
9-Under the Upload Photo blue taskbar on the right, there are the Browse buttons. That's where you navigate to the pictures on your computer. Each picture has one browse tab.
After you click ok in the pop up, do the next picture. Once done, on the bottom of the page is the upload button. Upload your pictures. You can add a description if you want.
As you can see, it's quite complicated compared to the usual posting way which is very easy. Just follow the sequence, and you'll be fine.

Thanks Joel, That's a great set of instructions. Someone on the admin staff ought to find a home for them..
My Bearcat survived the luggage smashers and arrived back home safe and sound. Nont much left to do on it that doesn't require an airbrush, so I guess it's traveling days are over..

Mark,
Sounds like you spend more time traveling then at home. Don't think I could do that.
It wasn't easy figuring out how to post pictures in the various galleries. Some of us have been campaigning to have them updated, simplified, or just plain done away with, as I don't see any real value in them in terms of members looking at them. It's just not realistic.

Well, I can finally post to the gallery again so here are some progress pics.
First I sanded the edges of the cowling to make then thinner, I added a thin plastic sheet between the tank halves to make the ridge around it glued a spare canopy on as a mask then masked the canopy and painted the primer.
Cheers Rob.

Rob,
Your F6F-3 Hellcat is really starting to take shape now. Thinning the cowl or any trailing edge always adds that much more scale effect to a model. And the ridge around the gas tank is an excellent detail that is pronounced on the real deal.

@Joel, yes, it's been a bit much lately. I've been to Malaysia 5 times since mid June. I've only spent 2 1/2 weeks in the US since September 24. Sort of explains the need for one degree of normal in all this mess.

FirstSergeant,
I certainly concur with Jonathan that your Atlantic scheme really came out quite well. I did my 1/48 scale Hobby Boss TBM-3 Avenger in that scheme.
Also checked the campaign gallery, and your 2 pictures are there. Well done.

Sascha,
Very nicely done. Please make sure to post two pictures of your finished model in the Campaign gallery to qualify for our ribbon.
