Some interesting news here:

According to Vladimir Sulc the next ww1 subject will be SE5a in 1/48 and there is also a reason for the faults in their SSW D.III kit:
'The SSW D.III was outsourced and unfortunately it shows, and so we will be doing the SE-5a ourselves.'

Cheers Mikko
That is exciting news! An Eduard SE5a... I've wanted to see that for years!
To be fair on the SSW D.III, though, the good more than outweighs any slip-ups, so whoever Eduard outsourced it to should seriously consider doing more WW1 kits in their own right - I certainly wouldn't complain if some of the glaring gaps in the ranks of 1:48 kits were filled to that standard...

If Mister 1/72 might add something here: Avia 534 (odd but cool, ready in two months or so), Spit IX (getting the Eduard treatment, I'm all smiles!) and FW 190A-5/A-8/F-8 (not my cup of tea really but I will probably treat myself to one anyway!). And then MiG-21s for 2016!

Hi Magnus
While it's great to see the Avia get the full treatment in 1:72 (it's always been a labour of love for Eduard), it's frustrating for me to see the "bubble-canopy" version among them that was promised (via MPM) in 1:48, but has yet to appear.
Full marks to Eduard, though, for the total rework of their Bf 109G series. That can't have come cheap, and many manufacturers would simply have ignored the flak that surrounded the first release.

Rowan! I'm sorry about the bubble canopy, I wrote them and recommended them to bin it and do a full kit in 1/72 instead. They found it to be an absolutely EXCELLENT idea. So there will be no bubble-top in 48...

By the way Rowan (even though I realise that I'm on red figures in your book right now ), if a 72-scale 534 (or a Spitfire) comes the Aeroscale way I am prepared to clear the workbench and do a build review. Just in case...

Hi Magnus
No worries - we'll give you a shout. You've got some explaining to do with Steffen too - I think he was looking forward to the Luftwaffe "bubble-top" as much as me!
