Rowan , I only just saw your thread and I wish you and your family my condolences .I lost my Mum 18 months ago. So sorry for your loss.All the best Phil.

A ghastly week is over, and the messages both here and behind the scenes have really helped me get through it! Thank you all! I don't think I've ever had to say "thank you" so often - and I hope I never need to in similar circumstances again.

Losing a parent (been there done that) is always a jarring experience, filled with loss, sadness and reflection on one's own mortality. I am glad that our expressions of condolence here, even if from a "cyber commumnity" show you that friendship in such a forum is still real, and that it has helped you weather a tough time.
