Hi all,
It's been a long time since I've posted on Aeroscale. I'm sorry for that. Here is my Eduard 1/48 scale Hellcat in the Night Fighter variant. The model was built from the ProfiPack boxing and apart from the wing guns which could be replaced by better ones the kit is really nice.
The model is dedicated to Petr Stepanek, cover artwork artist for Eduard who sadly passed away on March 24th 2015. I always liked his work, especially the one he did for this F6F-5N Hellcat boxing.
All the best,
Jean-Luc

Jean-Luc! Good to see you and your work back! A worthy tribute to a fine artist - the word boxart really means something!

Jean-Luc,
Welcome back.
A most impressive build. The paint scheme and decaling are absolutely perfect. Your choice of going lighter for the panels lines but not pure white, really works quite well.
I really like how you handled the engine exhaust. Not overly done, yet is a prominent feature on any operational F6F.

I agree! Flawless work-- just the perfect subtlety to the weathering.
The strapped-on, off-color fuel tank is really intriguing too. I love it all, not that you can go wrong with a night fighter-- always a cool subject.
thanks for posting,
Sean H.

hello Jean-Luc,
very nice Hellcat. Did you shorten the u/c legs? it looks a bit tiptoeing... might also be a problem of non flatened tires.
all the best

Hi Jean-Luc
Wonderful to have you back, "twin brother"! You have been sorely missed...
A beautiful build, as always - and a fitting tribute to Petr's fantastic artwork. This should really jump straight to the front page as a Feature.
I love the exhaust staining and the tropical background. Seeing as Steffen's mentioned it, maybe flattened tyres would be the icing on the cake.
All the best

Hi all,
Thank you for the kind comments. It is always appreciated.
I have flattened the tires but obviously not enough for eagle eyes Steffen and Rowan... I'll do a bit more the next time. I haven't touched the u/c legs in any way. Maybe they are too long, I don't know.
All the best,
Jean-Luc

Hi again Jean-Luc
It's probably just the texture of the base that hid them - on a plain surface the flats would be more pronounced.
All the best
