Hi, First time post here. I'm in the market for a P-47 Kit. What are the 5 Most sought after kits still on the Market? Would a Tamiya P-47M Republic be on that list?

In either 1/72 or 1/48, the best and easiest to build by far would be the Tamiya kits. They're also relatively simple models, devoid of tricky assembly steps.

Next down would be the Hasegawa or Academy in 1/48 and Academy in 1/72.

If you're looking for 1/32 there's either the ancient Revell or the Trumpeter kits.

I'm going with the Tamiya kit , best detail kit out there .

Hobby Boss has a nice rendering with the easy of assembly , but it just doesn't have the level of detail as what Tamiya has or the other manufactures listed already .

My vote goes for both of Tamiya's 1/48 scale Jugs. Simply outstanding from a modelers perspective.

I've only ever done one P-47 and that was Revells 1/72 issue. It's a modern tooling, not something from plastic pre-history that Revell does sometimes have a habit of unleashing on the unsuspecting buyer. Went together well, is nicely detailed and had an interesting and unusual colour scheme of 2-tone blue cammo of the 56th FG. I think the current boxing is in natural metal.
On that basis it gets my vote.

I do have the Tamiya 1/72 in the stash and I have to say it looks to be a fantastic kit and has more options for underwing stores. Detail wise, it's about the same as the Revell. Being Tamiya it will build beautifully. I'd build it but I'm torn between using the very nice kit decals or going for a blander RAF Far-East scheme. I suppose I could always buy another P-47
