Steffen,
Nice job on the decals. Not a drop of flash or silvering showing.

Thank you guys!

Bernd, I think the Revi is rather basic but if you like it I am o.k. with that (just the plastik from the kit cut and sanded to shape 2 acetate plates and one PE part from the Eduard set .. if you can use the set properly you'll get a much more defined Revi-Replica)

No progress, I am just in from work and 35°C and 110% humidty is just not to my liking...

all the best

Hi Steffen, it needs not always a highly detailed item to catch the attention, the whole build looks fine for sure !

The temperatures here are awful !

Vielen Dank, Bernd!

Well, putting on the stencils was again hard work as I did not like it and had to force myself to do it. Then I put on a sealing layer of Klear and a watercolour wash with raw umbra and black.

Now it is time to put on the under carriage and some small parts before the final flat coat. I think I can make it 'til sunday .. but we will see.

all the best

So now it finally rests on its undercarriage. Eduards wheels are nice, I only added a flat spot for a more natural stand.

and here is one just to show how wrong the HB kit really is

(tougue firmly in cheek!!)

steffen,
Just about there. Everything really looks pretty good to me. Just what are you referring to with the HB kit being wrong?

Hi Joel,

there are people that can recognize all mistakes and failures of a kit in just one photograph. The 2nd one was taken upclose (wide angle) so the nose seems to be overly long while the tail looks short (beside other distorsions).

The HB kit is pretty accurate... better than Trimaster and Tamiya but all have their advantages and disadvantages .. all fail at the leading edge slats though.

cheers

So now finally with a big overtime I have this kit done.
I have painted the position lights, attached several antennas. closed the glue holes in the canopy fram as I had removed these knobs from teh canopy to close it for painting. I already had done a spring to hold the open canopy, but I could not find such a thing on pictures so I left it off. I only attached a lever to the canopy to simulate the opening mechanism (it is probably not visible in the pictures.

Thanks for watching and especially to those who contributed to this thread. When I write the German Article I will have to censor the pictures so do not wonder when they change in teh future.

all the best

Many Thanks Bruce and Damian!

I am glad I came through this project without a major problem. The thread got quite a few views in a short time so I hope everyone enjoyed it despite being a quick and dirty job.

Nice job Steffen

HobbyBoss's '262s are cheap enough to tempt me into trying some major surgery without worrying too much if it's a disaster. I've long wanted to tackle the Eisvogel project that Flitzer and I hatched years ago.

All the best
