This is the Revell Bf 109G-10 'Erla' I finished a few days ago.
As usual with my models this one was built O.O.B. with the markings being changed a bit, I chose ''red 1'' of JG 301 which Revell does not include in their marking choices. The multi colored RVD band was painted on but everything else was decals, most decals are from older EagleCal sheets and a few were from the kits decals.
A few in-progress pictures...
...and the finished model.

Very nice, Les! And as usual from you in high class, do you have some more photos of the finished model?

Hi Les
Wonderful work as ever!
I want to see you tackle Revell's big new Fw 190F - it'd look outstanding in your hands.
All the best

Les,
Another outstanding OOB build. the painting, decaling, and weathering are just perfect. My only question is the tail wheel. It looks like it should be compressed more from the weight of the aircraft.

Thanks Rowan and Joel, very much appreciated!
Joel,
About the tail wheel strut, Revell got this correct, many (but not all) Bf 109G-10's had the extended strut as standard. The reasoning behind this was to make it easier for low time pilots to see better whilst on the ground to hopefully avoid running into things on takeoff and landing.
Right now I am building a Hasegawa Bf 109G-10 and it will also have the long tail wheel strut...pics to be posted in a day or so.

Hi Les,
Great build! I've never thought to assemble the tail after painting. Thank you for the lesson! I imagine there has to be some serious dry fitting to ensure that no filling is required.

Thanks Gary and Mal!
Gary,
Yes I did a lot of dry fitting to make sure there was a good fit of the tail planes, I was lucky and had no problems with leaving them off until the painting was done. With the tail planes off it made it much easier to mask and paint on the multi colored RVD band.
