Winston,
Just outstanding work of the highest caliber in building the interior of the ZM Raiden. The engine crankcase and transmission seem to be painted with a much rougher texture paint then the rest of the engine. Is that from the parts casting, or how you applied the paint? In either case, the final product certainly looks like a painted cast part.
The IP is simply outstanding. Sometimes I'm truly envious of what you can get in 1/32 scale compared to 1/48 scale.
Looking forward to your next update of a great kit. Just one question, why are you comparing the old Hasegawa kit to the new ZM kit. Are you planning on also building the Hasegawa kit and bringing it up to these standards?

Thanks,
The difference is partly in the casting and I did a wash to bring out the detail as well. I'm comparing because I have a few Hasegawa kits that I plan on doing and I'm looking into the feasability of doing an aftermarket cockpit, J2M4 with turbo charger conversion and a J2M5 with 30mm gun conversion. I must say this kit is really fun to build not like some of the AZ kits I have been working on.

I didn't realize all the shortcuts Hasegawa made until I started this kit. Lots of work especally in the cockpit need to be made to bring a Hase Raiden up to snuff with this kit.
And a lot of work to make my Revell Raiden look good, too!
Winston, awesome progress on this amazing model! I look forward to more.

Winston,
Excellent job of masking. Your base color coats really look good with the mottled effects. To say that I'm impressed, would be an understatement.
