Another thought (because I don't have enough to do). Who would be interested in a 1945 campaign? Some pretty interesting and important aerial activity in the last year of the war as Germany and Japan faced their defeats. Any aircraft so long as it's in markings from 1945 (I'm thinking no what-ifs at this point, but immediate post-war is OK). What do you all think?
As it stands, this one would start in November and go until May of next year.

Hi y'all.
Haven't been around nor the site neither the hobby for a while, but now might be the moment. A quarter scale SAAB J 21 has just come out, and I've got me one. This is a twin boom pusher prop fighter that was taken into service in 1945, so even an update from 1947-48 would hopefully do. Waddayasay? It actually was redesigned for a Goblin jet engine in 1949, so it's kinda cool and odd aircraft.
I'm itching to go though, so I hope I'm ok with a late forties propfighter.

Tony,
I think the idea would be that the aircraft has to be modeled as painted and marked from 1945. If your model would be from later that that, it wouldn't qualify. Sorry. If you can do it as it looked in '45, you're in!
If Tony can do it, we're up to 8 now!

I'll take a deep check. As I've read the differences was mainly structural, so it's mostly strengthening of the wing spars and hardpoints. Then it's just a matter of finding an identity of a plane from one of the first squadrons that got the type, and mark it accordingly.
I think that will be possible.
Tony

Bad luck.
The firsta sqn got their J 21's in december 45, so they were not even involved in border patrols. However, 24/4 -45 a Bf 109-G10 was landed in the south of sweden, and it got used for mock dogfights against the J 21 prototypes and captured P 51's. I'll build Bf 109 G-10 s/n 490137 with swastika and JG 51 markings overpainted, and swedish flags replacing the balkenkreuzer. Heck, if i don't find one in 1:48, I'm going one step up to 1:32, because it's in the stash, but boy how uncomfortable. I haven't been to 1:32 since the 70's. Now to find pics. Crash landers and deserters are rather well documentet in these parts.

Atta boy Tony, that's the spirit! You may actually find 1/32 easier than 1/48 (bigger parts).
That's 9!

Yes. 1:48 has actually forced me to get both terminal glassen and reading ones, but it's rather a good combo between reosonable detailing and shelf size. But now a 1:32 109 is what I've got, so it's time to build a big enough spray booth.

Ive enlisted with three possible contenders in my stash. I might buy something different, though. I'm learning that buying them is half the fun.

Well, finally I found the enlist button too, som I'm on. I think I can find pics to put up to show the actual 109. It had a mix of blanked out symbols, some overpainted with swedish flags and balken kreutzer retained on top of the wings.
