It looks fantastic. Was it usual for the Luftwaffe to put its planes on wooden crating to prevent them from sinking into the ground?

Thanks for the kind words. I sat the tail of the plane on the wooden crates so they could level it off to test the planes guns. If the aircraft were used in ares with soft ground the crew would lay down wood planks to keep from sinking in the earth. Thanks again. It looks fantastic. Very nice diorama.everything is great. 1/48 scale gives you a chance to tell and show lots of things in a little diorama base and Micheal did it 100%.congrats

Hi Michael
Welcome to Armorama! :-)
That really is a beautiful diorama - both the aircraft and the figures are superb... and all combined with some fantastic photography! :-)
It captures the primitve working-conditions of the Eastern Front perfectly...
All the best

Wayne, Thanks for the kind comment. I have some other pics on the way, two more Stukas, a Corsair dio and a dio that has 4 German fighters that were captured and put on display in a German field with American pilots and crewman checking out their fallen enemies aircraft. Wingman out.
