I'm back.
But for how long who knows.
It's weird we will go months no trouble and we get hit with the same issue but no one seems to know how to fix it properly.

I'll have some poor qa lit photos soon, taken on tablet until I can figure out how to transfer them from a camera to the tab.
Nothing is easy.

Oooh slight change of plans I'm going to a different Kiwi Corsair the 3 tone ain't working quite as well as I thought.
Would be ok with an airbrush but not working to well with rattle cans,Hmmmm airbrush and compressor or put said amount towards an 8Inch Dobsonian astronomical telescope.

Chris,
Does your tablet have any USB ports? if so, then you should be able to plug your camera into it as all cameras have a USB port or cable with a USB connector on one end. Transfer the pictures to your tablet, and go from there. The other option is to use an adapter for your cameras SD card that also plugs into your tablet via a USB cable.

Painting with rattle cans other then a one or two camo scheme isn't easy. You need to completely mask any areas as the spray pattern will go every where. The other issue is that your 3 or 2 tone camo pattern has feathered edges. You can accomplish that by using Blu-Tac or Silly Putty worms then masking tape that will also help hold those worms in place. Light even coats which isn't all that easy with a rattle can. Let dry, then re-mask for the next color.

Honestly, not having a air brush and compressor is a real disadvantage as you have literally no control over the paint pattern. The decision as to what to buy is yours, but not having a air brush/compressor really limits what you can accomplish as a serious modeler.

Hi Guys
Sorry for the lack of posts to my build Blog.
It held much promise.
Im still dealing with internet issues and even the ISP dont know what the problem is.Apparently the fault isnt allways showing at their end.
So Im limited to visits to somewhere that has free Broadband.
So far Ive painted and am now working on the weathering.
Im using a a version of a style I use for busts and Im quite happy with it.

Photos will be posted once Im fully up and running again.
Whenever that is.

In the meantine thanks for hanging in there with me.

Chris,
That sucks big time. I hope at least they're not charging your, and that you'll get something extra once the issues are resolved.

Ok Im back,
Made some progress Ive got a pile of sub assemsblies which are waiting on weathering and attaching to the fuselage.

As said previously Ive changed to an all blue aircraft as I wasn't happy with the 3 tone original, the demarcation between the blues never looked quite right.

The aircraft instead will be NZ 5416 Tutae Wera(S**t hot)

My weathering consisted of humbrol dark blue mixed with a small amount of white oil paint then a drybrush/scrub to lighten the base coat.adding more and more white as required.
Anyway Id better get back to it
More soon.

Chris,
Glad to read that you're back in business with your ISP/Broadband.

From what I can see, the weathering does look good.

If I remember correctly, you used rattle cans to paint your Corsair. Trying to do multi colored soft edge camo schemes is difficult at best. You need to mask with Blue-tac or Silly Putty just right to get that featured transition. The issue is that the cans put out so much paint at so high a psi, that's it's nearly impossible to get a consistent result. That's why I suggested just two tone paint schemes till you get an air brush or do camo schemes with hard edges.

Hi Chris,

the Corsair... good old memories... the 1/32 Revell kit (1989) was my first real model (also around the same time there was this US series about an american corsair squadron in the pacific area on german tv )

Anyway... is it possible to take better pictures? I myself find it hard to see alot in it...

greetings TC

Lars,
I believe that program was Baa Baa Black Sheep, or later in syndication was known as the Black Sheep Squadron. Basically, it was a really fictionalized story of Greg "Pappy" Boyington, and his fighter squadron.

Hi Joel,

you might be right... I really enjoyed the show as a kid :-) And I remember replaying the dogfights with my Corsair vs the FW190
