Wow, this looks nice based on the images here! I haven't had a King Fisher kit since the old Monogram kit, decades ago.

Unfortunately, it's not my favorite scale, but I'll be buying one as soon as it comes out. This is a must have kit for me.

I like the natural metal colored version, this might have to be added to the stash.

Thank goodness it's not my scale, and that I did one 1/48th using the old "Cutting Edge" conversions, otherwise I'd have to spring for this. (Restricting buys to 1/48) is my methadone for the addiction. But, this one is a beauty. "Hello Sailor!"

Hi Brian
You might not be totally out of the woods, because I warned Glen to expect heavy demand for a 1:48 version too.
All the best

Bill,
I' take one in 1/32 scale, and two in 1/48 scale so I can do a pre-war version.

Brian,
You never know. I've never built a 1/32 scale kit till the F2A-3 Buffalo called my name from the corner of a LHS I was just walking around. For me the Kingfisher will be another special build that I've wanted since I built and long trashed Monogram kit.

Joel & Brian,
Hi, I'm Russ, and I'm a "largescaleaholic". I too am trying to resist this fantastic floatplane. Others like me are slowly reeling you in! You'll be converts soon-- you'll be like the proverbial "frog in the boiling pan of water" ! Don't be like us!-- I just bought one of those Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito's-- I had to take out a second mortgage, sell my firstborn and trade an arm and leg to get my plastic fix! I used to build nothing but 1/72 and 1/48th kits, but now I'm constantly poor and eating beans because I almost exclusively build in 1/32 scale. Part of it is the failing eyes, but mostly it's the incredible detail. In all seriousness, this looks like another awesome large scale kit of a neglected type. I do have a 1/72 scale Octopus Kingfisher in the stash, but have to get my magnifying glass out to build it! VR, Russ

Russ,
It's not so much the price of the kits, as it is the available display space.

That does look stunning, and I can feel my wallet getting lighter just looking at it.

Joel, I sympathize with the size issue. I build mostly WWI aircraft, largely because a 1/32 WWI aircraft takes about the same display area as a 1/48 WWII fighter. But at our IPMS show here in Seattle last April, there was an HK B17G in a absolutely fantastic diorama nearly 4ft square. We were all commenting about the size of the aircraft, until we noted the diorama base had attachments to mount it vertically on the wall like a painting! Now that's an idea! VR, Russ

Mal, Battleship, Cruiser or Destroyer, they are all different.
Oh as much as I want a 1/48 version I may just also get one of these.

Possibly, remember I have been building ships, let me take a look and I'll get back to you.

While you are about it mate can you have a look to see if you have any plans for German ship catapults? I have 2 of the Revell Ar196 kits, one of which I want to display on a catapult And to bring this back to the Kingfisher, I might just get 2 kits so that I can do the same as with the Ar196 and display one on the catapult and one on water
