Thanks, Kobus! It is really one of those iconic aircraft that I love, so glad to finally be building one with a full load of ordnance.
Almost done, so I will upload pictures before the end of the month.

I have finished my 1/48 A-10 Thunderbolt II. An old kit with a few fit issues and soft detail. That said I am very satisfied with the end result. An iconic aircraft with iconic shark teeth.
Despite some try's and retry's on the camouflage it was a fun and pleasurable build. Great to participate in the campaign.
Comments welcome

Jesper,
That looks fantastic! But now you need some T-55's to hang it over! ...just to stay periodically correct.
....btw, I haven't forgotten a certain Bf109...
Best Wishes,
Gaz

Hi Jesper
Awesome Hog!! The weapons load on that plane, together with the incredible gun - oh my goodness - the damage it could/would cause!!
Thank goodness it never came to that in Europe!
Thank you for sharing your work and the photos - I will be using those for future reference (with your permission of course).

Thanks for all the comments, guys. Really appreciate it.
Kobus, use away
Gary, I have a SA-6 build, but could not fit underneath the Hog. A T-55 or T-62 would be perfect.
The BF-110 will get started soon....ish

The initial painting is done with Tamiya Deck Tan (XF-55) over the darker Desert Yellow (XF-59) for the Afrika Blitz and Dark Grey (XF-24) for the Russian Front truck; the canvas covers and windows on both are German Grey (XF-63). They also got Wehrmacht license plate decals from an old 1/72 Kübelwagen kit followed by a coat of Future to seal things.
When all that dried, I gave both vehicles a wash with Grumbacher Raw Umber artist’s oil to grime them up a bit.

The Afrika Korps Blitz received a decal and tinfoil Hakenkreuz aerial recognition flag over the hood and a few small scrubby bushes on the base, followed by and a light pastel dusting and a coat of Testors flat spray lacquer; the Russian Front truck received a coating of snow made from white glue and baking soda.
With these touches reflecting their diverse deployments, the German Army “Lightnings” are ready to roll!

Hi Chris.
I airbrushed with Vallejo model Air UK PRU Blue, this is the first time for me using this make of paint and it went on with no problems.
I will definitely be using Vallejo again.

Excellent Richard! I use Vallejo as well, it can be used straight from the bottle and it's dropper top is perfect for blending colours a drop at a time or squirting in a bulk amount. I find I use 5 different paint manufacturers and they cover lacquer, enamel and acrylic. I even mix the types of paint I use on a model and have no trouble with the paints covering one another. Must look out for that Vallejo paint as I've several Spitfire recon birds to make.
