Hi Jose my thanks pleased you like her, I'm quite happy with the results so far.
Your cockpit looks fantastic especially when you consider that it's 1/72nd scale!

Okay so we're in the home stretch now, adding all the small fragile bits. Gear doors, radio masts, df antenna, pitot tube and balance horns. I've got some weathering to do and then a dull coat and we're all good! Here's where I'm at as of last night.

Hello Fellow Modellers
Is it acceptable to do a non-winged model?
It has markings for the 807th Tank Destroyer Battalion in Germany in 1945.

I personally can't see why not? The rules simply state a vehicle or figure etc. The theme is 1945 and it certainly fits that bill nicely. What does our illustrious campaign leader think?

Absolutely, that's why I said "vehicle". Welcome to the campaign Linus!

I'm done with my Bf109-K4, I have however suffered a small catastrophe in that the CA glue used for the gunsight was not fully cured and has fogged the canopy. So I'll post some pics in the gallery once I've completed repairs. Here are some pics of the kit weathered and dull coated.
And one of the horror that greeted me after unmasking the canopy!

Hey Chris,
Sorry that your canopy fogged. Otherwise, tor 109 looks great!

Hey thanks Gaz! Your B-29 is coming along nicely! Good luck with the foiling of such a large airframe.

Okay so I've got myself a replacement canopy from another kit specifically the Academy Bf09G-14. The moulds of which were originally Hobbycrafts. They have since re-engineered them but the canopy is still a good basic fit for the Hobbycraft kit. So I'm going to mask the canopy off and paint it before attaching it to the airframe.
I'm doing this as I've got a replacement canopy coming from Falcon in the Luftwaffe part 2 set. So I can get started on completing the Hobbycraft kit.

I've discovered the Academy canopy is substantially thinner than the Hobbycraft one by breaking it in half whilst masking it. I'd just thought to myself I'd better pack this out with blu tack when .... snap! So now I'm left waiting for the Falcon canopy to arrive and I'm now looking to replace the Academy kit as well. Oh well live and learn.

Man, some days it just doesn't pay! Glad you have the Falcons on the way.

Yeah tell me about it! Well I've taken to the canopy with some metal polish and it's polished up reasonably well. Coated both the inside and outside with Future to help with the clarity. Glued it back down and now I'll wait for it to cure and then start the retouching process.
So I've filled where the aerial was and retouched the paint work. For some reason the Hobbycraft instructions would have you attach the short aerial mast for the G14 when it was deleted in the K series. So things are looking decidedly better than they were. Now to take some pics for the gallery before something else goes wrong!

I wasn't complaining about the pic Jose, I was sure that with your skills that the lines would be masked and painted. I just wanted to be sure that my opinion was correct and it is. Great job buddy it looks nicely balanced and this is braille scale 1/72, it's very easy to get things out of proportion.
