I love the underside of your DO. Lovely weathering.
As for the top section, to me it looks more dusted then faded.
I would try the fading technique with oil paints.

Thank you for the compliment on the Dornier's underside. The black basing was inspired by JoelW, and the streaking by Matrixone, both regular contributors to this forum.

It is somewhat annoying that the best looking side of the plane is the side that is rarely seen. However, there is less occasion for grime on the upper side of the plane.

this Dornier looks really good. I like Your effects, espescially on the top side. How did You catch this faded look?

Hi Oliver,
Thank you very much! For the faded look, I mixed up a thin mixture of acrylic paint (yellow, white, and black about one drop each) and Future. Then I just sprayed it on with my airbrush at a 90 degree angle to the model. It took three passes with the thin mixture, then once it dried, I sealed it with Testors Dull Coat.

Nice work finishing up your Dornier! Im sure youre glad to have that kit behind you. I also like how your fading came out on the upper surfaces and your mild grunging up of the undersides

So whats next, some more bare metal or after this one perhaps a shake n bake kit with a markings scheme backed by dozens of period color photographs!?

Thank you! I'm glad you liked my newly learned techniques. It's funny, you call the undersides lightly grunged whereas I really had to push myself to go that far.

I have an F-102 Delta Dagger to build for my father in 1/48 scale. I need to build it next, because his birthday isn't far away. It's got fine raised panel lines, and I'm a little afraid to tackle it. I know nothing about the plane that isn't on Wiki. I need to kick myself in the rear and get started.
