This is an older Tamiya kit of the Ki-84 that was recently finished.
I am not sure of the age of this kit but looks like it was from the late 1970's or early 1980's and was soft on detail but overall it went together without much fuss.
The decals in my kit were in bad shape so I used Aeromaster decals, these went on okay but the national markings on the upper wings should have had a white border like those on the fuselage.
Paints used were Model Master enamels.

That looks very good! Your weathering is realistic. I hope to post photos of my completed Ki-44 before the year is over.

Looks great Les! Very inspiring, great to see the potential of this old kit! I like your restrained chipping and the green color you used. Ive got one of these hanging around the bench waiting for me to pick a scheme

Beautifully done Les! I'll echo the sentiment about your chipping skills. Between modelling and photos, your build presents very well.

Thanks Lars!
Not sure what is meant by posting photo's without the thunderbolt...possibly what you mean is the model before the stylized red lightning marking was applied and I think I did post a few pictures like that in my in-progress thread.

Les,
Another impressive build. Your weathering really brings out the usage that these aircraft received in less then ideal conditions, yet you avoided that dreaded over weathering syndrome that is so easy for one to fall into.
As usual, your photography is just exceptional. For me I really like the Sepia picture followed by the color version of it.

Thank you Joel!
The weathering done on this model is what I consider fully maxed out, if any more weathering was done on it the model would have looked like a captured machine in a post war scrapyard instead of a heavily used frontline machine.

Lars, now I understand what you meant.
Okay, here is the Ki-100...this is an older build from 2007 or maybe earlier.
The salt weathering technique was used for most of the paint chipping, the NMF was Alclad II and was painted over by Model Master enamel.

Les,
Excellent work, as you are known for.
That old Tamiya - even back then they were trend setters.
