Hi Doug
Brilliant stuff! I don't know how it's crept under my radar 'till now.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the hangar deck works out - that's way more ambitious than anything I've ever tackled.
All I'd say on the Attacker itself is that the finish is maybe looking a bit too matte at the moment, compared with your earlier shots - you want to aim for an "in scale" full gloss for a 1950s RN paint-job.
All the best

Doug,
Your paint scheme, decaling, and simple yet most effective weathering is just perfect. But that hanger deck, it's amazing. The added detail and it's paint/weathering rivals anything I've seen to date from any resource.
As usual, following one of your builds is a most enjoyable Aeroscale adventure for me.

You might want to revist your sailors' uniforms. The RN in the 1950s rarely wore green. They're more likely to look like this

Hi Doug
Lovely work. This is going to be a stunning diorama!
I agree with Jessie on the uniforms (that forage cap looks a bit un-Navy too) - and I still would try to gloss-coat the Attacker if that's still feasible.

Hi Doug
Looking at colour films from the period, pretty much all the overalls look blue-grey. There's the occasion glimpse of olive green (white too), but most of the guys appear to have been wearing blue denim boiler suits, with quite a noticeable range of shades from repeated washing. I didn't spot any forage caps.
The bulky suit the chap's wearing in your first reference shot looks slightly shiny - so maybe it was treated somehow (rubberised?) as protection from the fuel he's pumping in?
All the best

thanks Rowan
I have a few more figures to put into the scene so I will do some other colors on them like in the photos so it will look more the part, as far as the hat is concerned it will just have to be what it is cause they are glued down and too hard to remove at this point, and who knows if one guy did not have one at one point, from a previous assignment in the infantry right?

A self-respecting pongo wouldn't allow himself to be caught dead in one of Her Majesty's boats.
Punch out a suitable disc of plastic and wrap a bit of epoxy putty around his head to create a proper white top cap.

Heh, Is there a term for uniform sticklers? Stitch counters maybe???
Anyway, I think your diorama so far is excellent. The hangar is fantastic and beautifully done. I do tend to agree that the mechanics don't necessarily say Royal Navy to me but they are secondary to the aircraft which is obviously RN.
