This is my entry; a Trumpeter 1/72, Sukhoi Su-15 TM, Flagon-F. It was involved in several interceptions during the cold war, all with civilian aircraft. The most notorious was Korean Air Lines flight 007 on September 1, 1983. The Begemot set has the decals for Major Gennadi Osipovichs aircraft used on that tragic day. A got a few goodies for this build Aires wheels & paint masks, an Eduard Detail set Pavla air intakes and correct vertical tail. Along with Quickboost correct nose and a NeOmega KS ¾ ejection seat. I will be using an AK Interactive Soviet Aircraft Colors paint set, which has there Xtream enamel-based metalizers paints. This will be my first attempt at a natural metal finish, it should be interesting.

Very nice build.

Light years away from A-model versions.

Best wishes,

Ian

Ian, I love the box top art. Will you use that scheme?

Hey Bob! Yeah, my intention is to do the overall medium green scheme with underwing rockets. I have clear coated the decals just to be on the safe side. Looking forward to your Thud! I love that kit. I am doing a Monogram F-4D for the Sign of the Four Campaign and it has reminded me of what fun those Monogram jet kits are to build.

Best wishes,

Ian

Well, since we're declaring our intentions, here is what I plan to build:

 photo 20160702_121844_zps6x7kfkag.jpg

 photo 20160702_121905_zpsfpiaupbq.jpg

I'll be making an IAF bird from the Yom Kippur War, probably 101 Squadron.

Looking forward to seeing what the rest of you do with yours!

John I cant wait to see your F94 completed, I remember the first time that I saw an kit for the airplane in the late 1950' or very early 1960' and have loved it ever since.

After opening the box on my F105 i found the seat was missing so i picked one up from evil bay for $6.

Ok Here will be my entry.

I will do it in South African colors for the Borders war.
Not sure if I will original camo of '82 or Low Viz of 203 in '83.
Thinking low Viz right now since you do not see many of them when people build this.
And Yes I know this is not a great kit but that is half the fun

Some interesting looking planes already. I'll think we'll see a good mix of types in this campaign.
I'm still hunting for my Airfix Strikemaster I plan on building. I've found the Matchbox I wanted to pinch the rockets from so if all else fails I'll just build that.
My search has turned up a Heller Ouragan I had totally forgotten I had which is another possibility for me. It comes with IDF Suez Crisis markings which fits nicely into the brief. Now that reminds me. I also have an olde Airfix 1/72 Canberra and a sheet of Suez markings for it somewhere. I'll have to hunt those down!

I'm going to start off with the Heller Ouragan. Looks to be a straight forward build.

I don't know how the decals will behave, but I do have a set of 6-Day War decals if I have any problems.

While some parts for another campaign build dry, I thought it was a good time to start this kit.

First thing, build the interior.

Basic but it will do. At least the ejector seat actually LOOKS like an ejector seat. Only thing I did was add the firing handle from some wire. All of this will of course be painted black.

Also arriving today was the Sword Jet Provost T.5B kit, which has all the parts needed to build a Strikemaster in the box. If the Ouragan goes together as quickly and as easily as I hope, I'll also be building that one. After a good hunt I managed to find the Xtradecal Strikey decal sheet which has 3 Omani aircraft. 2 from the Dhofar War and a later 2-tone grey example. The Airfix Strikey is still AWOL, but I think all I want from that now are the bombs. Should still make a decent JP T.5A if I can find it.
Let me give everyone a piece of advice based on my experiences of the last year. Don't move house! You'll pack things away and never find them.

The Starfire looks great John.
I've often wondered how that kit goes together. I've built Emhars WW1 tank series and found them to be surprisingly good kits.

some parts are ok, but the canopy needed to be opened, you can't close it.. some work is needed on the air intakes, no details for the cockpit, well.. if you can find another brand like Trumpeter, italeri, hasegawa.. go for them..

Still it turned out better than I expected, decals weren't so bad.

Wow! Nicely done, John, and probably not the easiest of kits to build. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

This is my entry the Trumpeter 1/32 A-6E/TRAM "Intruder". The markings will be for USMC, VMA (AW)-533 'Hawks' (although Trumpeter list it as (AW)-522)), that flew during Operation Desert Storm.

Hi all,

good kits so far !

Here is my entry in this campaign with a french AT-6 TEXAN which was used during the algerian war (1954-1962) which led to the algerian independance.

My kit is a venerable old Heller one, which my wife found in a second hand store, there still was the receipt in the box .... from a 1980' purchase !

the old green glue pastille which Heller was used to place in the boxes....it maybe had fossilized !!!!

Cheers
