It's been some time since there was a Soviet Air Force campaign. With this being the 75th anniversary of Barbarossa it seems like now could be a good time.
Any aircraft from the Red Air Force in the Great Patriotic War. What do you all think of that?

I'm in also (#3); perhaps with Eduard's I-16 or Trumpeter's Mig 3.
Take care,

Quite frankly I've been thinking about doing my Il-2 single seater from AM sometime next year... I've ordered last week some extras for it from Hannants, so if the campaign takes off count me aboard

That's 6!
I figure I've got a Yak-1b, I-16, MiG-3 or Il-2 (all in 1/32) I could do, so I'd like to get this one on track.

I have a Mig-3 and a Yak-7v, both 1/48 and ICM and a Vac Wings 48 Ilyushin IL2m3 and I16 (maybe not on the vac kit). I had planned on looking for something else, but have not found what interests me yet such as Yak3 or 9.

Depending on the time frame (2017?), I would be in, as I plan to build my Zvezda Pe-2 next year.

OK, that's 7!
I would expect it will start late 2016 but spill over into '17.

OK, here are the proposed description and rules. Let me know if you think they look OK. I figure we'll look at getting started in October.
Michael
The Great Patriotic War began on June 22, 1941 and it started badly for the Soviet Air Force (VVS), which was decimated by the battle hardened Luftwaffe. This turned out to be something of a blessing in disguise as, out of the ashes of the pre-war air force a newer, more modern arm arose dedicated to close cooperation with the army that soon rocked the Germans back on their heels. This campaign is dedicated to honoring the Red Air Force, the Soviet Phoenix that emerged from the destruction of 1941 to take the war to the enemy and grind him down.
1. Entry must be an aircraft from the Soviet Air Force or Naval Aviation from 1936-1945.
2. No what-ifs.
3. Any scale or aircraft that fits into rule 1.
4. Models can be stand-alone or in a diorama.
5. Enter as many as you like but each modeler will only get one ribbon.
6. Models must be no more that 25% started at beginning of campaign and you must post at least one photo of where your kit is at the start of the campaign in the campaign thread.
7. At least two in progress shots of each model should be posted in the campaign thread and at least two finished shots in the campaign gallery.
8. Oh yeah, have fun!

Howdy Michael
The rules sound like the makings of good campaign. Will Lend-Lease aircraft be allowed?
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Thanks Michael,
I'm leaning towards the Eduard I-16 but I also have a few P-39's. I hear the Eduard P-39 is a nice kit as long as you display the door open.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Michael, the rules suit me and I just signed in. I'll start with my "Peschka" as soon as I can. Still need masks for it.
Don, the Eduard P-39 is a good kit. Hasegawa is better but Edu is fine enough. I also have a few Cobras in my stash. Maybe I could add .....
Opposite to the Americans and British, the Soviet airmen loved their Cobras and often used them for ground attack.
