Hey guys, latest off the line. Airfix 1/48 109-E4
overall a nice kit, easy to build, no assembly issues whatsoever, finished in lifecolour, with tamiya yellow for the yellow. some of the decals moved before i put on the second clearcoat ( I should have checked before spraying)
My compressor died mid build so i had to get a new one. Went for a sprint jet and compared to the compressor i was using ( no psi adjustment, no filter, lots of pulsing) the new compressor is like a huge jump in technology despite the lack of a tank ( works just fine, no issues whatsoever).
I Digress.. the kit is supposed to represent a vehicle shot down near middle wallop i believe. it has an interesting camo of a RLM Grau overspray on the fuselage on the usually dark BOB camo. ( imo it came out too dark, not enough contrast between the greens ( thoughts?)) I used the lifecolour dark green and black green and light blue appropriate for the vehicle. anyway, ill let the photos do the talking.
all the best
James.

James,
Nice model. I don't think it appears too dark at all.
How's the P-51 coming along?
Cheers,
C.

Thankyou Simon, the kit was really nice to build, the tub lacked a bit of detail but for under £20 I thought it was great

Nice result of the "Emil", James. A bit too war weary for my taste but that's only my subjective perception. Your photos look a bit "foggy" on my monitor. Is that my screen or did you use a filter when taking the photos?
Sorry to hear about your compressor. Mine is now 9 years old and I hope it will join me for so many more battles ....

Torsten, thankyou. Unfortunately I'm resigned to using my phone for photos, hence the very hit and miss quality!

Oh, thought that was your intention as the pics looking very nice and interesting with a "softend" contrast and light.
The "E" is coming out very beautiful - great work James!
The camo contrast sometimes fade especially between those two colors. But the overall look is very nice to me, also the weathering.

Thankyou Thomas, this is my favorite build so far. Very happy with the weathering and shading on this one.

Nice looking 109, thanks for sharing. I've read so much about the newer Airfix kits, but haven't had the time to get on into the production line. Will have to change up the next few kit builds!
