James to be honest I was unsure just what I was going to do for the weathering. The decal issue solved that.

My friends I have just a quick update to show you.

After spending a couple weeks of illness I finally got back into the bench.

The weathering process began. First I spent some time with oils. I wanted to give just a bit of weathering, not too much. I used lighter colored oils to lighten the paint just a tad and allowed the streaking to look more like moisture streaked dust.




I then sprayed a flat coat. Once dry I used pastels to give the illusion that two of the engines had seen some better days.



Now I can move on to the small bits and hopefully pull this together.

The last couple of days saw the little things attached and final touches put on.

Great work Joe! I can't find any fault . How big is she ?

Joe! Good to see one of these finished, if I wasn't such a slow builder I would gladly give the Academy B-17s and 24s a serious go!

I like the look of it but since you've asked for advice: the props look brand new compared to the rest of the aircraft. Prop blades look too black and the hubs are shiny silver, a few washes and
some pastels to tone them down would even things out a bit I think!

Still, a really good build of an interesting subject!
