I would like to show you my excursion to the 48s scale today.
The An-2 from Trumpeter was an contract work for an former agriculture pilot from the Interflug for his 75th birthday.
The model was built from the box (that is with the wrong fuselage station 5), only the corresponding Decals for the machine are itself made, in addition still the rigging, pitot tube and chemical container.
some details to the original airplane
- Reg. DM-SKN; SN 112218
- 01.12.1959 Deutsche Lufthansa DDR; green paintwork, saber propeller (WISch-509A-D7)
- 09.09.1963 Interflug-Agrarflug; silver-colored, straight propeller (AW-2)
- 19.09.1974 sold to Balkan, Bulgarien as LZ-1133
- since 1984 no futher information - wrecked?
I ask the quality of the pictures (especially background and subsoil) to excuse, because I had no time for better photos between completion and handing over.

Nice model, with a clean NMF finish.
I bet the person who ordered the model was pleased with it.
One question: any idea for the reason behind that brown khaki strip on the upper fuselage?
Cheers
Pedro

Hi Pedro,
Thanks for the reply.
This is a antiskid layered walkway to reach the fueltanks (insalled in the upper wing).

Hi Lutz!
Very nice and clean work on the Anna. That's how I like it. Well done! I believe the new owner of the model will be pleased and lots of memories come up when he looks at it. This kit is still missing in my stash. How was it building it?
Just returned from the Oldtimer Festival on the Hahnweide near Stuttgart. Several Annas made sightseeing flights together with the Ju 52 from Dübendorf the whole day.

Hi Torsten,
thanks for your post. I hope the Hahnweide Festival was very well.
The building of the model was without greater problems. The greatest fault at the model is the wrong fuselage station 5 (Cockpit back wall). I think this will be the fault on all An-2 Kits.
In the Flugzeugforum there is a good discussion about it ( http://www.flugzeugforum.de/threads/4146-Meine-Anna-und-ich/page10 - see from posting 199).

Lutz,
An excellent build of what I looks like a challenging build.

Thanks back Joel - but you don't need to hide your models either.

Hello Lutz,
this Anna looks very nice! I really like it!
How did you do the aluminium painting?
Was the spraying unit part of the kit or did you do it scratch?
Best regards,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
for painting i have used ModelMaster-Metallic "Aluminium" with Airbrush.
The spraying unit is in this kit includet. Only the chemical container inside was scratch build.
