Taking into consideration all the inaccuracies, the purchase of this kit is IMHO wasting money, despite its engine. Ridiculous cockpit and shape of canopy, canvas surfaces (corrected a little), wrongly shaped rudder and tailplane, wrongly angled strengthening ribs in the wheel wells, poor quality and wrong colors on decals (especially in British Tomahawk Mk II edition) in a modern kit with such a high price is unacceptable. I will not spend so much money to buy this kit only to take the engine to install it in Airfix kit. The rest can go to the trash bin. Airfix wins here. Sorry Bronco. Since we have Airfix, your kit is wasting time and ammo.

I need to check Dana Bell's recent book on long-nose P-40s but if I recall correctlt, the windscreen is correct in that it was a rounded single piece, without framing. The "framing" was a flat piece of armored glass installed, IIRC, after the P-40-cu. I can't attest to the curvature accuracy of the canopy, yet those criticizing the rounded piece probably need to check resources.

Hi Fred
The overall canopy shape looks more like the mock-ups used in John Wayne's "Flying Tigers" film. Check out Steffen's on-going Build for an idea of the work and cost involved in tackling the issues in Bronco's P-40.
All the best

Those mock-ups? Eeewwww, they are terrible. I'll look closer at the images once I'm home and don't have to use a phone screen. Sadly, I have had concerns about Broncos model since seeing the Box art when the news was first posted. Shame that Monograms early P-40 is still considered by many to be the most accurate model of the variant.
