Hi Torsten and my thanks for your encouragement. I'm also pleased to hear that you don't have any issues with Tamiya San's decals. We all have varying methods for decaling and you've found one that works well with them, care to share what your process is with us? I'm adding another couple of decal solutions to my arsenal as a "last resort" for resisting decals.

Thanks "D"! I've always been wary of using some of the "hotter" decal softeners but I would've liked to see what I could have achieved with them on these decals. Oh well next time I'll be ready!

There's nothing special about it, Chris. I put them in warm water for about 20 seconds and use Revell's "Decal Soft" under and on the decals, leave the softener for some time on it (maybe another layer after the first has dried) and then use a Q-Tip to press the remaining air bubbles out and the decal into the panel lines. This works with all kinds of decals, no matter if they are from Tamiya, Revell, Hasegawa, Cartograph etc. I have tested a few softeners over the years but found out that Revell's softener suits me best. It doesn't cost much and is easy to get here.

Thanks Torsten, the Q tip idea is a good one which I'll use in my next build. Previously I've used a toothpick with a rounded tip but that can still damage the decal. Hardly ever used any of Revells products the odd paint here and there but never thought to use their decals their softener. Something else to consider I guess I'll see if I can source it easily here.

Okay after a little work over the weekend I've got my P-47M ready to go. Just need to take some gallery pics and put them up. Awesome campaign Damian my thanks for running it so well, even if mine was a rather quick speed build.
