Okay so there are just a few small construction steps left mainly the landing lights and some lenses underneath the Hurricane. I've painted the spinner and the lading gear doors and picked them out with an oil wash.
The instructions would have you assemble the landing lights in an incorrect sequence (in my opinion) with the photo etch behind the lens. Actually the etch needs to go on the front of the lens as it actually holds the bulb. I've put a pic of the actual landing light and the proposed construction sequence and pics of what I've done to replicate the original.
The photo etch is flat and actually needs to be curved or as I managed to make it conical. I drilled out the center of the etch and then used a silicone tool to push the center up and pull the edges down. I then placed it on the cutting mat and flattened the edges so I could use crystal clear canopy glue from Humbrol to glue it in place. This will dry clear and act a little like future to improve the lens. (Or at least not make it worse .... hopefully.) I've yet to paint it but it will be a satin black as per the original.
Once I've got the landing lights assembled it's time for a little final weathering and we're done!
Take a look at the pics to hopefully illustrate just what I'm rambling about.

Well after several weeks of finishing the fiddly bits I'm going to call her done. The canopy gave me headaches but it was all my own fault, lesson learned! Never use Tamiya thin cement when you have a canopy that fits this closely over the fuselage. The kit went together actually rather well and I'm impressed with it's level of detail. I'd like to see Tamiya do one of their now famous 1/32nd scale kits of this much neglected stable mate of the Spitfire. I hope you've enjoyed this as much as I have.

Chris,
Well done, my friend! It's awesome looking! You've really brought out the detail on that very dark finish.

Chris,
That's one beautifully done Hurricane! I still think the Hurricane looks just wrong in swastikas, but you have pulled it off nicely!

Tim my thanks! Pleased you like her although I find the change of markings to be refreshing. The Finns chose the Swastika because a Swedish supporter of the Finnish Whites (As opposed to the communist reds during the Finnish civil war) Von Rosen who had bought the aircraft had painted his personal good luck charm on the Thulin Type D aircraft. This charm – a blue swastika, the ancient symbol of the sun and good luck. So not really aligned with the German fascist regime just a coincidence.

Hi Chris,
Great looking Hurricane and good to see some different markings.
It seems the Finns used a bit of everything. There is another finished build I see today of a Finnish Ju-88.
cheers
