I am gathering up 1/48 scale ww1 aircraft kits. There used to be a series of first world war aircraft colors from model master. I cant seem to find this anymore in looking thru catalogs. Could someone direct me to the names of the colors or substitute ones...particularly german . I think the french and brits had simialar colors for their ww2 stuff. Enamel preferred but will take any brand any type

They are not cheap but the colors are spot on and if you have any problem,question or special order are really helpful

I love the colors drooling bulldog has but sorry not paying $10 for 20ml. Beyond outrageous. Guess it will be mixing some model master colors together for me.

Here's another supplier – I've not used them myself yet (as the WWI paints are rather new). But I've heard good things about earlier batches in the RLM series...

THE PAINTS I HAVE USED ON THE WWI AORCRAFT ARE ACRYLICS FROM THE CRAFT STORE. I LOOK FOR THE FEDERAL NUMBER CLOSEST EQUIVALENT (TO THE COLOR CHIP).

THAT BEING SAID... AND SWITCHING TO lower case... the colors for the British an French tended to be sprayed on and come from the closest paint manufacturer to the aircraft factory. Thus variations to colors were ...well varied, AND in the sun and weather the top wing faded as did the horizontal stab and the fuselage back. So don't be overly concerned on the Exact colors (unless a color photo or better yet a painting shows up of the aircraft you want to model).
