So, we still need a ribbon. What do you all think of this? Simple, but effective:

I have just enlisted.
I have a Revell black F-14A in the stash at home that would fit the bill.
Don't you feel more like you do now than you did when you came in?

Hmmm, just snagged an ESCI F-14A+ at a thrift shop. this could prove tempting.

I've got that same kit, with a BUNCH of AM for it. I could enter it, or the Hobby Boss A-10. Both 1/72.
Hrmm....well, regardless count me in. I've got to get one of them built.

I've done a bit of research on this kit. My sample still has the sprues in sealed bags, but there are no Phoenix missiles in the box. Looking online this seems like the way the kit was originally shipped. Thought the whole reason for a Tomcat was the Phoenix missiles... And I have to do a bit more research on the tail feathers. I thought the reason for the A+ was to swap out the TF-30 engines for F-110s. Not sure if it has the F-110 tails or not. All else fails it's not the only teen in the stash.

Bingo, the 9055 box. Looks like the 9054 kit is a regular F-14A with Phoenix missiles.

Oh, and one online review said 9054 had both the TF-30 and F-110 tail feathers...

On the plus side--it looks to be a really nice kit. Good molding, sharp lines, good detail.
The A-10 I'm doing didn't come with ANY stores. I mean--who does that? An A-10 without external stores is like a day without sunshine!! So--I scoured eBay, and found a set of Hasegawa munitions and went with those. I already looked for you, as if it had any Phoenix in it, I'd send them to ya, but it's mostly GBUs.
Good luck!!

I might have some spare phoenix missiles that I kept from the last F14 I had that got binned, though it's a long way to send them.

Thanks guys.

I've got some stuff in the spares box to check out as well as a couple of weapons kits. I used to travel a lot to Malaysia, always wanted to visit OZ. I'd have been glad to drop by and pick them up Iain, hell it's only another 10 hours by air.

Not sure I agree about the F-111. It was a 1960s bird, first flew in '64 and entered service in '67.
I suppose given this that the F-110 is right out?

OK, I'm in. Here's my first choice.
Kiteck F-16It's marked as an F-16A, but all the markings are for F-16Cs. I think I'm less than 25% started. take a look.

So does it look less than 25%? It's OK if it's more, I have more, unstarted, options..

Hey Mates,
after modelling only armor I planned to built an aircraft this year. This campaign fits 100%
I'm in.
But the problem is to decide which aircraft it will be. The most planes in my stash fit the requirements for this campaign. They are all beautiful jets.

Cheers

I'm in with this. I think the kit's been in my stash for about 30 years and the decals for 25! It's time! I'll be doing the Montana ANG markings.

I'm in I have a Revell 1/32 scale F-15 I could build perfect excuse to deviate from my current WW2 fare.
Just a question this is fighter aircraft only? Would the C-17 Globemaster III be eligible? Or would it fall outside both time frame and aircraft type?
After a re-read of the campaign criteria please disregard my previous question I've answered the question myself, the answer is no lol.

Here's my entry after MUCH deliberation.

I could have just as easily gone down the Tomcat, Falcon or Hornet route.... such a difficult choice as they are all iconic aircraft.
