I hate you Bob. I'm 26 hours out from eye surgery, can't see well enough to type this and you've already got the cockpit painted. I'm going with the Eduard F6F-3N.

Mark, I am retired and have no obligations other than those pesky VA appointments coming up (foot surgery, eye surgery) so when I cannot walk or see you can laugh at me.
My kit is Hobbyboss and either I have dyslexia or the instructions are a little confusing.
Let me know how the Eduard kit stacks up.

Hey! Mark, after rereading my post I thought I would get as much done as possible. So I'm just tooling along
She is going together nicely and I decided to go with folded wings, then after they were assembled I saw that I did not think through how to paint and mask the open areas Well I am at a stopping point now.

Can't believe your progress, Bob
Great work, looks like you're enjoying that build a lot.
Move on... sure you'll find a solution for masking/paint.

I'm trying to clear my stash shelf a bit, so the current plan is to do both with a bit of a build log similar to my spitfire dual build.
I am currently working on a couple of other campaigns at the moment so probably won't get started on this one for a little while yet.

My P-61 landed today.
What a great looking kit. This will be a pleasure to build.
I'll get started as soon as I can.

No joke there. At least it comes with masks in the kit.

The mask make the price of the kit more acceptable. I keep using Tamiya tape and a new #11 blade to mask canopies with mixed results, some good some not. I will look forward for your posts of the canopies..

The price made me second guess it until I saw a review. It is very well molded. It comes with PE and mask. It is an OOTB with it's own AM. Plus you get a print of the box art.

J1N1-S Gekko Type 11 early model from Tamiya. It will be beefed up with Eduard's PE and masks.
