WNW has announced a new kit in development for 2018 . This was posted on their Website and it will apparently be revealed in February at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.
Maybe we can make a game of it by guessing what it might be - any takers ?

Richard,
I'm think a Berg D1, or a Hansa-Brandenberg Star Strutter since there haven't been any Austrian Aircraft yet. On the other hand, in Keeping with their two early German releases, I was thinking about a British BE2C early, to keep up with the other "early" aircraft releases Or maybe a Curtiss Jenny? But wait-- would they release a Fokker Dr1? almost too many to contemplate-- but you know if its WnW, it will be a good one. My all time favorite would be a Camproni CA-2 bomber, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Russ -We know WnW's early credo was to only offer up the unusual rather than the mainstream- but they certainly defied that with the Camel . They seem to be now alternating rare/ common - the most recent is the Stahltaube so perhaps it is time for another mainstream aircraft. The Fokker Dr 1 certainly qualifies- perhaps even a Spad or Nieuport . The Jenny would really be something but as I believe you pointed out sometime earlier perhaps it's non combatant role may affect it's chances . Thomas Morse Scout ? It's anybody's guess so we'll have to wait and see ! - Richard

I hope others join in too, but I have to add one more-- a Hanroit would be great-- mostly flown by Belgians-- but they've been ignored by all the manufacturers so far-- so I'll add that to my list-- I'm with Richard on this post-- what do the rest of you think?

I SPAD A2 would be both unusual and very different. It's also a 2 seater, which Wingnuts really seam to like. Could you imagine sitting with the prop between and the other member of your crew.

My "prediction" for the new realease, is a DH4 or a BE2C... or perhaps a Halberstadt CL.II (maybe whishfull thinking on my part). It won't actually be realeased (buyable) until later in the year.
However WnW will hit us all with a surprise release in April of a red DR.1, to mark the centennial of the Red Barons demise...
Guessing is fun

I'm hoping for a Siemans-Schuckert D.IV or a Fokker E.V. An H-B Star Strutter would be cool, tho.

I for one would like to see a Curtiss Jenny, this is a plane with great potential...
1. WWI trainer
2. 1920s barnstorming plane
3. 1920s US Army AND Navy plane.
4. Hollywood movie "Everyplane". WINGS, MEN WITH WINGS, DAWN PATROL, SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS; with paint schemes to dazzle the imagination.
This is a model that would get mileage. with many versions. and Many, Many paint schemes.
Of course a Curtiss D pusher or a Sikorsky Ilya Murometz would be nice too
But I tend toward the Jenny

Howdy,
I think I would have a heart attack if they did a Pfalz D-VIII.

I'm guessing it will be a Dr.1 in Richtoffens markings.
Would love to see an Fb.5, but I would honestly be happy to see anything they do. In the meantime I really need to get cracking with the few kits I do have.

Hi all
Some great aircraft mentioned, and I'd be happy to see any of them. For my suggestion, I'll throw the Avro 504 into the pot.
All the best

I agree with Chris, something big like a HP. They have shown they're happy to develop the big planes. But mostly I would like to see them break out of their German / Anglo phase and provide some options from other countries.
cheers

Need to add this factoid to your Jenny list-- first aircraft to be used in combat by the US Army-- during the Mexican incursion against Pancho Villa! I could go for one marked for that campaign!

Well--- a bit of a let down for me, as the D-1 didn't see a lot of WWI action, but it is an interesting subject, and certainly is a close-out German fighter of 1918, I'll probably get one just for that reason, but a Hanroit or Berg is what I was really looking for! Interesting that no one had the D-1 on thier "I'm hoping for......" list. I did a quick run through of WnW numbers, and there are 73 series numbers so far (number 73 was the Dolphin) with 17 empty spaces to fill (if one goes by the idea the last number is 32073-- not sure there is truth to that from WnW's perspective, as the D-1 is 32065 in series number) the "unfilled numbers” in the series are 32, 33, 39, 43, 44, 45, 49, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56, 62, 64, 68, and 69. These series numbers are not including the 4 so far released in the "Duellist" series, so there's still hope! If you are counting there are currently 18 kits OOP. The D-1 would certainly look good displayed next to a Stahltaube to show the progression of German aircraft technology during WWI---hmmm, maybe an interesting display idea?

WOW! Didn't see that one coming. Still, it will get added to the collection as I know nothing about this airframe or its history.
Heck, it may even get built!

Can anyone guess why the wing comes separated? Was it common to ease storing inside hangars or is this a forerunner of carrier aircrafts

I hoped for this for a long time. After working on the J1 I grew to appreciate the metal construction. Always put this down as one of my wishlist when partaking in polls etc. Gonna have to get a couple though. As it stands its screaming for a stripdown build. I for one am well chuffed.
