Eduard: Fw190D-9 OvertreesPosted: Friday, February 02, 2018 - 12:12 AM UTC
Although Eduard''s quarter scale Fw190D-9 is now 8 years old, this is the first time it has been released as a Overtrees boxing, so Andy Brazier throws it together in a bare build review.

Nice one Andy
Wow! Seeing that brings back some happy memories of doing the Dora double-build along with Jean-Luc. Was it really 8 years ago already?! It's scary how time flies by.
All the best

Thanks Rowan, yep 8 years ago, doesn't seem that long ago.
Probably still got the Weekend Edition in the stash somewhere.

Hi again Andy
It took a bit of digging, but I found the old Thread.
Looking through the pages from back then is a reminder both of what fun we were having with some great kits - it really was a golden period - and, above all else, what a wonderful modeller Jean-Luc is! I wish he was still posting on Aeroscale these days, because every build of his was a fresh inspiration!
So, while it wasn't in any way a competition, you can imagine the challenge of going "head to head" with Jean-Luc on Eduard's Fw 190D! Especially as I somehow drew the "short straw" and let him build OOB while I tackled the minor problems! LOL! Logically, it really should have been the other way round to enable me to have half a chance to keep up with the fastest and most talented modeller I've ever had the privilege to know - but I think we ended up with a decent result (I know Jean-Luc delayed his finished pics to let me catch up! )...
Happy days!

Hi,
Cracking builds from you both.
I bet Jean-Luc had his finished by the time you got the sprues out of the box .
Its a shame he's not posting anymore, he did some terrific work.
Eduard must have tweaked the moulds a bit as the rear engine compartment fitted over the exhausts fine in my D-9.
