Well, after more than five years, I see the "Hisso" SE5 finally sold out at WnW. I note that the "sold out" list has grown to 19 kits now (not including the two "Deullist" combo kits that have also sold out). I'm not complaining, and frankly I'm glad to see WnW kits are selling out-- which probably sounds strange. But think about it-- it proves there's a viable and vibrant market for 1/32 WWI kits out there, even 100 years after the end of the event that spawned these kits in the first place. What do the rest of you think?

Russ - Once prices start climbing a bit I'm sure they will reissue/repackage it if the demand is there.
I'm glad they are so successful - they have earned it with an absolutely first class product.

I just bought my first WNW kit a few weeks ago, the Albatros D.V trilogy. Three models in one box. I bought it a week before they sold out.

The owner of WNW is a very rich man who doesn't seem to care about sales as much as he does as presenting high quality kits that aren't under production by other companies.

I'm glad they're out there, but only having returned to the hobby a few years ago after a very long hiatus, I can only feel that I missed something. I refuse to pay the highway robbery these OOP kits go for on EBAY.

But I live in hope.

I wasn't really bemoaning the fact that I didn't buy the "Hisso" it was one of the first WnW kits, and they've done several specials since it seemed it was a slow seller. But one of the things I've learned in life, is that when something comes along, and you want it, if you can afford it, don't delay, or it won't be around when you get around to buying it. I'm with Richard in believing these kits will probably be back-- someday. But, I might not be around someday either! In my particular case, I've got two Roden SE5s, so I really didn't need a WnW kit. But, I snapped up the Dolphin, which has been on my "want list" even before WnW existed. I think Peter Jackson and his team have done a marvelous job with WnW. I hope he doesn't lose interest, and that the team continues o do marvelous work.

That's true-- although Sprue Bros. here in that states is also sold out. I did some checking on the history of the "Hisso" kit-- it's been available since 2009, and was thier fourth or fifth kit I think (LVG, Junkers, F2B, Hisso were among the first kits released). So it had a nine year run-- not bad for kit availability these days. The Junkers and F2B are the only two kits from that first group remaining. I think kit availability/longevity for WnW might get shorter as they have expanded to the retail market with more distributors. Unless they have increased thier production runs and numbers of kits produced.

Yes, the SE.5 was among the first four together with the other mentioned. I kind of wonder if they pressed more of these initial kits (altough the LVG ran out a lot quicker)?

One supplier that still seem to have the SE in stock is Modellbau Koenig in Germany. Hannants had five until day before yesterday – now they are sold out as well...

Yes, I noted and received a PM that Hannants And others had some in stock, then bam! There were none! I wonder if these are being bought up be somebody as they go OOP, only to be put on eBay. It seems strange that they are suddenly going so quickly now after being on the market for at least 9 years.

I suspect you may be right Russ. Most "true fans" have already bought this kit long ago, so bulk buy for e-bay profit may well be what's been happening here.

A couple of WnW kits that may be on the endangered list are the Junkers J1 and the Roland VIb – at least if you belive the talk on some forums.
