Over at At Large Scale Planes there is a link to the "new re-releases" announced at the NZ model Expo this last weekend. WnW is reissuing the DH2, Sopwith Triplane, and the Albatros DV, each with a figure of a famous pilot-- Lanoe Hawker for the DH2, Raymond Collishaw for the Tripe, and none other than Von Richtofen for the Albatros. Looks like the figure line is finally underway! Here's the link to LSP:

Yep, a few of you had me convinced they were going to release a boxed set of a Camel along with a new Fokker Triplane on April 21st-- the Hundreth anniversary of Von Richtofen's death. But it's not to be I guess. However, these kits and figures are tantalizing too-- they've teased us pretty well for years with thier figure line which has been "in process" since they started he business. Looks like it's finally coming to fruition. I particularly like the pose and expression of Collishaw, but the other two are equally good. I already have an Abatross and a DH2 (and a Roden Tripe), so I hope they release these as separate figures, along with the rest of thier figure line.

This is really nice ... BUT what about a seated pilot or Two.

And maybe a rear gunner. Two actually one for the Lewis Gun and one for the Parbelum MG.

Not all of us what to detail the Cockpit, but we would like to "fly".

Tom,
Agreed, but check out the WnW home page-- they show figures of all types "In Development". One can only hope they will have some "flying" figures worked in there someplace. This is especially important since the WnW cockpits are so detailed and in scale that if you try and fit an existing figure in, you have to remove the legs or part of the aircraft.

Not to be overly negative or anything, but the "in development" figures on WnWs site has been listed as such since the start – which is getting close to 10 years now, so...

If you want seated pilots in 1:32 that are avaliable today, I'd suggest checking out either Kellerkind miniatures which makes a nice range of WWI pilots, or Wings cockpit figures. The latter have a FB. page. I recently bought a seated albatros pilot among other figures from them, and they are top notch! This one was sculpted specifically for the albatros cockpit, so would'nt think I need to perform any surgery to fit him.

I've also bought seated pilot from Copperstate models, again sculpted to fit a certain cokppit this time the Camel. These are also of the finest quality.
