Made a start on improving my instrument panel.
Drawn in inkscape, and printed on screen printing transparency,
transferred to brass sheet using circuit board resist film.

A short dip and then painting
And finished.
A few things didn't quite work out how I wanted.
I underestimated How long I needed to do for the first dip to get some raised detail. Cold etchant solution didn't help matters. A few holes will need cleaning up due to over painting blocking the etch.

Hi all,
i know i haven't been posting much and building even less but there has been a bit of a poop storm in my life at the moment, i'm not going to go into it as i don't want to bore anyone or bring them down.
What i will say is that due to a lack of help from italeri i can no longer continue on the ah-1w 1/72 scale that i was working on due to a cracked canopy... so that means it's back to the start line and a case of pulling another kit out of the stash, this one is an ah-1g in 1/72 scale by Revell.
so there is the initial start picture below of the kit un-started and a newspaper with a date on it from last week. as far as i can tell no one has done a build of this kit or even a review of it on here or on youtube and as much as i would love to be the first i'm afraid that the poop storm is still having a direct effect on my life and will do for several months to come i fear.
and i brief progress update taken a few days ago, i hope to give another update tomorrow.

Wasn't really sure what to build until this arrived today -
Just at first glance the parts are stunning on the trees.
Chris,
i am eager to see you build that kit as i have one as well, icidentally there is a build log of it on youtube, that might be of use:

Wasn't happy with the first attempt so tried again.
My second attempt got forgotten about and etched way too much so here's my third attempt.
Original etch is on top with my latest effort on the bottom.
Now just need to try and print some instrument faces out.

well this is a great kit and detail is amazing but the weak point has to be the clear canopy for the cockpit, it's in five sections and doesn't go together easily but i have managed it here.

well i seem to be in a two steps forward, one step back mode at the moment and so i am behind on painting this kit which is rather annoying, i have a similar issue on the MBT campaign with my tamiya challenger. However i now have to return to work and so my modelling time has come to an end for this week, so stroll on sunday when i can get back into the groove again.
thus far i have managed to paint the rotor blades which are not in the picture and the two winglets on the tail boom which you can still see covered in masking tape.

well it's time to put on the paint and so i have sprayed on several coats. a white primer coat followed by nato black from tamiya for the pre-shading and some dark yellow for some tone variation.

Grinding away on the Sea King and realized I forgot to take construction photos.
The blurry photo helps hide all the silvering. Lots of rookie mistakes, including fogging up the canopy by using cyanoacrylate to glue the seats right before adding the canopy. Then I scratched the canopy using a scalpel blade to remove some window masks. I still need to work on the rotors and wheels, at least 50 more stencils to add.
David - That cobra is coming along nicely.

Looks like you figured out the gallery, are you asking about posting images here in the in-progress thread?
