Welcome to Hot Out of the Molds 2019! This campaign is for those who have a brand new kit (anything with a copyright date of 2018 or 2019) and want to get right to it. Build logs are encouraged so we can all see how the new kit goes together. The campaign is once again being led by our friend Jesper (SGTJKJ).
If you want to see the rules and sign up, go here. Pictures of the finished product go in the campaign gallery.
Looking forward to some brand new plastic on display!
Michael

Hi Guys and gals!
I am going to run this again this year as the campaign leader. Michael, thanks a lot for setting on the signup page and gallery.
Glad to see one of our regulars here already Welcome onboard, David!
I have not decided what to build yet, but there is so much cool stuff to choose from. More to follow on that one.
Remember, anything copyright'ed in 2018 or 2019 is good for this campaign.

I picked up this P-40F at the hobby shop the other day as I have always had an interest in the P-40 as most of Australia's top aces during WWII got most of their kills flying it. It was only after I got home and read some of the reviews on Trumpeter's early efforts that I feel it may have been an error! But what is done is done and it does come with decals for an RAAF machine. So anyways I will keep you posted on how it pans out.

G'day Stephen. I'm following several builds of this new kit on various forums and have seen no complaints yet. I believe that it is all new tooling and Trumpeter have upped their game. It will be good to see what you can do with it!
Cheers, D

Stephen, cool choice. Is the Australian version also with the iconic shark teeth?
I have choosen a completely different subject. Fantasy flight games just released these imperial royal guards. Very cool stuff. I will have to practice different shades and gloss surfacing of reds. Probably more of a challenge to me than I realize.

My entry for this campaign. The new Spähpanzer Puma from Rye Field
It's a beautiful kit and looks like an easy built.

Welcome onboard, Chris. Interesting choice.
I Am done with my Royal guards and emperor Palpatine. Quite difficult painting job as almost everything is red. Tried to work with shades and gloss vs. mat surfaces.
Looking forward to see the status of other entries.

They are great Jesper. The subtle variation in the shades has come off very well.

Here's what I'll be building, just arrived from Hong KOng, couldn't find it at a US site.
This is a nice build of the kit. Andy seems to have an in with Tamiya, and gets pre-release copies of their kits.

I didn't realize this was an "air campaign", and enlisted to do an armor subject. Is that OK?
Can this also be in the armorama campaign forum list?

We can only list the campaign in one forum, but this one is definitely open to all new kits.

I have a Mark 1 models R33/34 to build but how do I upload a photo? I've tried and it says this forum does not allow them

As my SPH K9 Moukari is close to the fin(n)ish line, I prepare a flyin' start with my last campaign build this year. It's Airfix' latest quarterscale strike, the Bristol Blenheim Mk. I ....
.... I'll go for version A, a bird of No.23 Sqn. Will build out of box as usual. The only extra is the Eduard mask EX626. For the exterior I'll give some new Vallejo paints a chance, 71323 British Dark Earth and 71324 British Dark Green ....
I guess I can start later next week but it will take some time for the first update bacause I'll be away for a few weeks in September.
Happy modelling!

Looks like I'm the solitary entertainer here ....
This will be my final update before my vacations next month in Finland. I've come a bit further this week and have finished the cockpit assembly. I've used Revell 45 Light Olive for Interior Green, that comes quite near. For the seatbelts I've used some stripes of Kip Tape and painted them with Revell 89 Beige ....
.... first test fitting of the fuselage halves. Looks good at the first glance. Everything inside is at the right place, no part disturbs. I might use some pressure though here and there to get them together well. Will not use ordinary plastic glue but ethylacetate and glue the halves together bit by bit ....
.... next update will follow after my return in late September. Hope to see some more builds here in the meantime.

Here is whats in the kit interesting that it gives you 5 tail options
also got the internals done no real problems though the guns are a bit finicky to get in.

ok, i'm a little late to the party but as promised many moons ago is the Bandai star wars blockade runner that i plan to build for this campaign.
i'm using the newspaper as a time stamp and as you can see it is un-started at the moment as everything is still in the clear plastic bags.
