Bob, FWIW, I finally had great luck with Testors ELO Easy Lift Off. Slather it in the parts, WAIT for it to bubble and then wash off. Once I finally figured out the wait step, it took 90% of the old paint off.

Mark, thanks for the tip. I use acrylic paint and 91% alcohol does the trick. These were painted in enamel and I was not prepared.

I like the engine and the year flavor the best. No way this is going to end up a one off campaign.

I like them all!
Peter, how do you format your ribbons? I have paint, but just cannot get the hang of it.

Hi Bob. Paint is usually too basic a program to get quality by itself, especially when it reduces size and converts the image to a .gif file - lots of degradation.
You can do basic work in Paint as long as it is reasonably large but I ALWAYS use Irfanview to resize, scale DPI and convert to another image format. The program has lots of other features to improve the pic that you see in expensive image manipulation programs. It has so much better algorithms than most others and best of all - it is FREE!!!!

Peter, thanks for the lesson (way above my head). I will leave the ribbons to you guys who are able to produce them.
