Russell, have to admit I've not looked at them but will have to I think.
I have Sheridan's Flying Tiger boxing and the other which included the Black Omega scheme. There's also a couple of built but unpainted ones somewhere I got cheap from a guy who built them for use with his Warhammer game but lost interest. Really must dig them out and do those kits justice one day.
That's really nice, the Starfury looks really sinister in the all over black!
Stephen, thanks for following. Yes I'm using EZ Line. Seemed to work really well when I tried it between a piece of sprue.

So, you're saying you've got 4 in total? OMG! I'm somewhat jealous! Looking back, I should have bought more than 1!

Seems like it. I would have to go back round my parents for them when the lockdown is over. To be honest I can't remember what the quality of the built ones is though. Might be a lot of work to restore, but worth it. Luckily the boxed kits have plenty of decals to use on them.

Used to see those quite often in the toy section of discount stores over here. Never one I got because I was never sure if it was any use to me.
Still working away quietly on the Rumpler. Nothing terribly exciting, just all the little bits.

Really happy with how the Parabellum has turned out. I gave it a coat of matt black over a darkgrey primer and finally rubbed on some Mig Gun Metal weathering powder. Grip and but was painted pale sand and then some Vallejo dark wood grain brushed on.
The decal saga continues with the upper surface of the wings. These are much more of a devil to apply. Not only lining up the rib tapes, but also the tape around the edges. Quite tricky to keep the leading and trailing edges lined up to achieve the effect of a long strip around the wing.
This is by far the largest decalling job I've yet attempted and I'll probably not do so again for a while.

Not sure what other folks prefer, but I use Alclad II “light sheen” right out of the bottle. They also make clear flat if you want a dead flat finish.

If you still have the wing crosses to do, I would gloss the lot and seal the crosses in with a second coat and then go matt on the canvas parts and satin on the metal parts of the air-frame for contrast. Tamiya acrylic varnishes I find are excellent for this.

Wasn't sure what sort of finish the dope would give on the original. It's sometimes not easy to work out on old black and white photos but that would give the effect of different materials and finishes.

Spent a little time yesterday on the lozenges on the tailplanes and bottom of the fuselage. These were much easier to get on than the larger ones on the wings. I probably should have trimmed the cutout for the camera, but it completely slipped my mind.
It's starting to get a lot closer to the finish line now.

He strikes me as an interesting man and the complete polar opposite of Richthofen. One coming from priveleged nobility, the other a socialist from a poor Irish family. Yet both the top aces. Would have been interesting to put them in a room together.
