The cradle to keep everything safe is a neat idea. Is it made from artists' board or similar?

Yes, Rowan, I think it's called artist board, I origanally made it to support models while being decalled and for final assembly. I normally shove cocktail sticks in the gear leg holes, but I've split the sockets on this (you can actually just see the split on the port socket in the first pic) so I'm supporting it this way.

Lord Dave, thanks :-)

Oh man that is just beautiful. I fully expected the invasion stripes to look awesome just like that!

Thanks, Alan, I'm quite pleased with them myself. There were just a couple of places where they didn't quite meet and had to be touch up. That is on the fuselage undersides, this could have been my fault because my main concern was getting the stripes around the fuselage roundels in the correct place. If the roundels are wrongly positioned the so will the stripes. However, with all the care I took to position the codes (they had to fit pretty tightly in the unpainted rectangles) and therefore the roundels I'll go with my positioning :-) The only other problem was with the stripes accross the gear doors, they were to short, so I painted them.

She now has her matt coat and looks, as in my opinion models always do, better I hope to have her on her wheels by end of play Sunday, then there are just the rockets to do. I have been having fun with these, I will explain when the final pics are submitted. There will also be more interesting masking, on the rockets. To complete the rockets I really would like to try making my own decals of the "fill" markings etc, but I'm not sure how to produce them in photo shop. Can anyone give me any guidlines. The markings are basic numbers and geometric shapes, but it's scaling them that I don't know how to do

Hi Mal

That shouldn't be a problem. I'm hoping to do plenty of modelling this weekend, so PM me and we'll set a time for a Photoshop session - it'll be easier if we've both got the programme running.

All the best

Mal, your talent never ceases to amaze me. Great stuff. I like how well the white went on.

Thanks Rowan, I'll see what I can do, DIY and Colourcoates review permitting

Hi Bryan, nice to here from you I don't usually have a problem with white but this time I made the mistake of using unfamiliure paint and "bogged it" initially. Came good in the end though, partially due to the primer coat of white auto plastic primer :-) This also proved my theory that to pre-shade white use a white primer first. The pics with just the white, before any camo was added, show the pre-shading to better effect.
